NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former member of the Democratic Party Tulsi Gabbard slammed “big tech” social media companies for destroying the “social fabric of society” after a jury acquitted a man of all charges for shooting a YouTube prankster in Dulles Town Center, Sterling, Virginia.

The 42-year-old politician appeared on the Fox News program ‘Gutfeld’ and critiqued the excessive usage of social media by the young and its apparent repercussions on society at large.

After the unfortunate shooting incident, Gabbard blamed it all on social media companies for creating a “social de-civilization effect” where people harass others for more clicks and money.

Tulsi Gabbard rains down on social media companies for destroying ‘social fabric of society’

The former Congresswoman was deeply disturbed by the shooting, which injured a YouTuber, but pointed out that harassing people for likes, clicks, and money is a system fault made by the “big tech” social media companies.

While appearing on 'Gutfeld', Gabbard said, “The tragedy of this whole thing is, you know...We can make jokes about it but the fact that this 21-year-old kid was shot because he was harassing people for clicks so that he can make two or 3,000 a month on YouTube..”

She then explained how this was all due to the mistakes of big social media companies.

She noted, “His dad is defending his actions and even after being shot, he’s saying, “I’m still going to harass people.” This is literally the social de-civilization effect of social media, of these big tech social media companies making a ton of money so guys like him, they don’t care about the consequences, their actions, their words.”

Gabbard was furious with the big tech companies for their bizarre economic strategies and concluded, “It is all for the clicks and it is essentially eroding the spiritual foundation of our country which has nothing to do with religion.”

She requested the people to be “kind to others, treat people with respect and do unto others as they would, you know, you would have them do unto you.”

While sharing the post on her Instagram, Gabbard also stated in the caption, “Big Tech “social media” companies make huge $$ while they destroy the social fabric of our society. It’s no surprise the lack of compassion, empathy, and respect on “social media” carries over to real life.”

She concluded, “If we ignore this erosion of spiritual values, it will only lead to more unhappiness and despair.”

Fans are on board with Tulsi Gabbard’s criticisms of Social Media companies

Gabbard received support from her fans after she critiqued big tech social media companies for eroding spiritual values as she posted a clip of the segment on X, formerly Twitter.

One person tweeted, “True words! The impact of Big Tech on our society's values is a concern we all need to address.”

A second person wrote, “It is refreshing to hear ANY politician speak of spirituality and acknowledge that God exists and that policies should be influenced by that perspective. Thank you!”

Another person, “I wholeheartedly agree. Too many people are searching for social value because the fabric of society has been ripped apart.”

A fourth wrote, “Lol dopamine is the new nicotine and big tech is the new tobacco industry. The negative effects social media is having on our mental and physical health will be unparalleled.”

A fifth wanted Gabbard as the next Vice President of the US as they wrote, “I think this woman with all of her accomplishments and her perspective would be an excellent VP. She might then decide going forward if the future holds a higher role.”
