Tulsi Gabbard honors veterans as she slams politicians for using soldiers as 'cannon fodder' for power

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard recently tweeted in solidarity with the veterans and slammed the ‘neocon politicians’ for using veterans who serve as ‘cannon fodder for money and power’

The 42-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to honor fellow veterans on ‘Veterans Day’ which was celebrated on November 11.

Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually to honor military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Gabbard took the opportunity to bring forward an important message, stating that the politicians “send military men and women to fight in wars which are absolutely not necessary”

Gabbard who had served in the US military earlier was livid at the politicians for using veterans for their own benefits.

In a tweet honoring the veterans, Gabbard said, “As we observe #VeteransDay, and honor those who have served in our military, neocon politicians send our military men and women to fight in wars which are not absolutely necessary and could’ve been avoided”

She added, “Wars that were created or are waged for the purpose of driving up profits for the military-industrial complex. These neocon politicians love to talk tough because they’re not the ones putting their lives on the line, facing death, injury, and grave sacrifice on the battlefield.”

The former Congresswoman from Hawaii was furious and pointed out that the politicians have been ‘using’ her ‘brothers and sisters in uniform’ while reminding everyone that they are even forgotten when they return from duty.

She continued, “They use us, my brothers and sisters in uniform, our veterans, as cannon fodder, for money and power. This is demoniac. To make things even worse, too many of our veterans who return home from war are forgotten, not cared for, and they and their families are left behind.”

Gabbard offered a solution to the politicians to honor the veterans appropriately. 

She said, “The best and most important way to honor those who serve, is to only send them into conflicts that are necessary to ensure the safety and freedom of the American people and our country.

The netizens were glad to witness Gabbard speak about the treatment of veterans at the hands of politicians.

One said, “I cannot imagine the pain and disrespect soldiers must feel when they realize the politicians lied so that they would have to wage war. They don't question orders, they take their oaths seriously. And they are harmed even when they have not been. Thank you for your service to this nation.”

Another commented, “Well said. The US Govt has used interventionism and war as foreign policy tools. I wonder if the US would have been more or less powerful today, economically and militarily, had it not used these tactics?”
