Tucker Carlson apologizes for US ambassador's 'inexcusable' pro-LGBTQ remarks in Hungary
BUDAPEST, HUNGARY: Tucker Carlson recently addressed the people of Hungary in Budapest and apologized on behalf of America.
The ex-Fox News host was recently part of the MCC Feszt in the Hungarian capital as an American conservative representative. The huge gathering was attended by scores of Hungarian citizens with similar leanings.
In the beginning of his half-hour-long speech, Carlson praised Hungary and its right-wing population. He went on to ask for their forgiveness for the "disgusting and inexcusable" behavior of the American ambassador.
Tucker Carlson calls Hungary a peaceful right-wing country
"It is so nice to be in this retrograde, right-wing hellscape," he sarcastically said to start off his speech. "...It [Hungary] seems very much like the country that I grew up in."
"It all seems kind of normal to me," he continued. "If this qualifies as a dangerous, rogue, right-wing country, I'm thinking the terms have changed a little bit since my childhood."
The European nation is one of the most conservative powers in the world at the moment and Republicans in America have often emphasized the importance of the relations between the two countries.
Ambassador David Pressman's criticism of Hungary's anti-LGBTQ+ stance
Carlson then went on to bring up US Ambassador David Pressman's criticisms of Hungary's turn to the right.
Hungary's anti-LGBTQ+ stance has led to legislation that has been deemed harmful to the community.
As an openly gay man himself, Pressman shared his thoughts on the legal protections that were done away with.
In one of the Pride events attended by the US Ambassador, he said:
"Both here, and in my home country, when opportunists target LGBT persons with laws that challenge their dignity, undermine their humanity, and compromise universal values, it is a test of whether our institutions are able to uphold fundamental rights and individual liberties, whether citizens – even, indeed especially, the most powerless minorities – can hold their powerful government accountable to their own commitments. The struggle for human dignity is, like democracy itself, not a destination but a process."
Tucker Carlson attacks David Pressman
Carlson started his apology by attacking the US Ambassador for his widely criticized take on Hungary's conservative approach to gender and sexuality.
"The behavior of the American Ambassador to Hungary makes me want to apologize," Carlson said. "It's disgusting and inexcusable."
"It's also so far from the norms of diplomacy in my country that it's hard for me to believe that David Pressman is actually doing what he's doing. And I say that as someone who spent his life, 35 years in Washington," he added.
The world is realigning at high speed, and turning against the United States. But the Biden Administration is spending its time harassing one of our last sincere allies in Europe, Hungary, for the crime of being too Christian. Watch.

"The entire premise behind diplomacy is that countries are different," Carlson continued. "They're not all the same...The point of diplomacy is not to hector other nations for its own sake; to show up in somebody else's country and scream at them because they're different from you."
Carlson went on to call Pressman a "creep" and a "Biden donor" for working on "boutique sexual politics" that was the critique of the anti-LGBTQ+ measures.
