President Donald Trump slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez on Thursday, August 13, by calling them "stone-cold crazy," and a "poor student." The president denounced the Democrat politicians during a phone interview with Fox Business' Mornings with Maria and claimed that Democrats "don't love the country."

Trump began his criticism of female Democrats by first slamming Senator Kamala Harris, the presumptive vice-presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, and called her a "mad woman." The president then slammed New York Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, saying: "AOC was a poor student. This is not even a smart person," he said of the economics graduate from Boston University, who graduated cum laude in 2011 with a double major in political science and economics. "She goes out and she uh, yaps." The Republican leader then went ahead and pushed his theory that Ocasio-Cortez will "run against Chuck Schumer for the Senate."

Trump, during the interview, also claimed that Republicans will take back a majority of seats in the House after the November 2020 elections. He attacked the House Speaker Pelosi, saying: "We’re going to take back the House. Nancy Pelosi is stone-cold crazy."

The president also took the opportunity to denounce his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, calling him "Sleepy Joe." He said of the Democratic presidential candidate: "Joe doesn’t even know he’s alive." Towards the end of the interview, Trump also alleged that he believes that Democrats do not care about the US. "I sometimes think they don’t love the country," he claimed.

Trump's comments came days after Biden announced Harris as his vice presidential pick. The Republican, during the interview, also denounced Harris and said that the tax-and-spend policies of the Democratic ticket would wreak havoc on the economy, adding that the party's environmental agenda would lead to the Empire State Building's demolition. "She’s radical left. Now she tries to pretend she’s not, but she’s the most liberal person in the US Senate," Trump said. "She’s done things that are terrible in terms of the police, in terms of the Second Amendment, in terms of everything else and she is a big taxer as Joe is a big taxer," he added referring to his political rival Biden.

Trump continued, saying that the California senator is "sort of a mad woman," and slammed her for her famous questioning of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh during his Senate confirmation hearing. “She was so angry and [showed] so much hatred with Justice Kavanaugh,” the Republican said. "I mean, I’ve never seen anything like it. She was the angriest of the group — and they were all angry. They’re all radical left angry people,” he added.

When he was asked on the network about the economic forecast for the next year and whether the US would bounce back from financial recessions resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, the president said that it would depend on who wins the 2020 election later this year. “I think if he wins, you’re going to end up with a disaster,” Trump said of Biden. He added that the former vice president would push for the Green New Deal backed by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
