Did Trump really call CNN ‘dumb ba****ds’? Here's why POTUS slammed network in foul-mouthed tirade
President Donald Trump called CNN 'dumb bas***ds' while speaking at his campaign rally in Arizona on Monday, October 19. Trump shared that the news network has only been covering the coronavirus pandemic in order to try and prevent Americans from voting during the upcoming election. While speaking at his rally, Trump said, "You turn on CNN, that's all they cover."
"Covid, Covid pandemic, Covid. They're trying to talk everybody out of voting. They're not buying it, CNN, you dumb ba****rds," he said. As per data from the John Hopkins University, the United States has seen around 8,212,767 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far.
There have been 220,110 deaths across the country due to the virus. During his speech, Trump went on to say that 'all' CNN host Chris Cuomo talks about is the coronavirus. Cuomo himself had been diagnosed with the disease earlier this year.
"I'm not sure he had it. Only time his ratings were up was when he had Covid," Trump continued. He went on to explain to his supporters that he had also been diagnosed with coronavirus. "Well I had it and they say, 'You're not gonna catch it again,' and that's OK with me," he shared.
He claimed how CNN employees were very happy when they heard that he had been diagnosed with the virus. He shared how commentators had said that Trump "looks better now than he did before". He also said he is planning on making regeneron, the drug that cured him, available for all for free.
Many social media users slammed him for his comments on platforms like Twitter. One such social media user had written, "He’s becoming more vicious, more crass, angrier. He will ruin the Republican Party for decades to come. I dint understand that this is what people want from@their President."
Another outraged user commented and had written, "I can’t imagine what it must be like to be stupid or crazy enough to believe what he says let alone be excited and cheer about it. Education and mental health are serious issues in America."
"The president ridiculing news agencies for covering the tragic and preventable deaths of hundreds of people every day is a good enough reason to cry. That being said, it may be healthy for you to take a break from social media and the news for a couple days!" shared another user.

"He knows he’s losing the election. He’s destroying as much as he can before he gets kicked to the curb in January," said a user. "Trump is not ok today. He’s more unhinged in his behavior & lack of filter, acting like a demented old man cursing at the tv. Tonight’s rally is going to be lit, but not in a good way. Maybe one day we’ll find out why the @GOP was willing to destroy itself for this lunatic," shared another user who chimed in. Another user called his handling of the pandemic a failure and shared, "220 thousand Americans dead. Over 8 million #covid cases. We lead the world as the third surge of the first wave is happening. Yeah, we are talking about the pandemic. That is the one topic Trump wants is not to talk about it because of his epic failure."
