Thousands of President Donald Trump's supporters were reportedly left stranded in freezing temperatures for hours after an airfield rally in Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday, October 27 night. Some attendees walked miles for buses while several were taken away in ambulances. Trump supporters had waited hours in long lines to get in, and clogged parking lots and busy crowds made the exit even harder. Crowds cleared about 12.30 am, hours after the Air Force One departed around 9 pm, NBC reported.

At least 30 people — including the elderly, a disabled wheelchair user, and a family with small children — required medical attention after hours of waiting in freezing cold at the rally, according to dispatches from the Omaha Police department, recorded by radio communications platform, Broadcastify. "Supporters of the president were brought in, but buses weren’t able to get back to transport people out. It’s freezing and snowy in Omaha tonight," Nebraska State Senator Megan Hunt tweeted.

"There's an issue with a number of people unable to find their cars and wandering in the cold... see if we can't get everybody reunited with a car," the Omaha Police Dispatch 1129 recording stated, per Broadcastify, while audio on Omaha Police Dispatch 1100 said, "I've got an elderly male that's down ten blocks... having a hard time breathing right now." The Omaha Police Department tweeted prior to the event that "Parking at the TRUMP rally is full."

"Is there any place you would rather be than a Trump rally on about a 10-degree evening?... It's cold out here but that's okay," Trump said as the crowd cheered upon his arrival at Eppley Airfield. Wearing a heavy black coat and gloves, the president thanked the crowd for attending the event. He said he'd been to Wisconsin and Michigan earlier on October 27, where it had also been freezing and raining.

"I said I won't put on a hat because I'm gonna show you how tough we are," he said. "It was pouring and it was freezing. It is the coldest right here, right? It is an honor to be with you, I have to say. When we win, you win, Nebraska wins and all of America wins."

Never Trumpers on social media, however, pounced on the opportunity to ridicule the president for his campaign's handling of the event, with one saying it was the "perfect metaphor for his presidency." "On Omaha, I've been literally to thousands of events over 5 presidential campaigns and no competent or compassionate advance person would never bus people in and leave them to get home on their own. It's not a stretch here they just don't give a s**t about people," CNN analyst Joe Lockhart tweeted.

"Trump leaving supporters out in the cold is the perfect metaphor for his presidency," writer Ron Fournier wrote. "Lmao, trump leaving thousands of his Omaha rally attendees in the freezing cold after being bused there is the perfect chef's kiss of lessons: After he's done with you, you're out in the cold freezing to death. #Omahastranded," Dem activist Majid Padellan added.

"Trump went to Omaha, bused in elderly maskless supporters, and left them freezing and stranded facing covid and hypothermia all while suing to overturn their health care. That is who HE is, but not who we have to be! #vote for Biden who won’t make you sick and leave you stranded!" House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's daughter Christine Pelosi wrote. "When someone finally makes a film about the fiasco that was Trump’s presidency, the final shot should just be a group of hypothermic senior citizens roaming aimlessly along a frozen Omaha road," another Twitter user added.
