Following his admission to Walter Reed Military Medical Center on Friday for testing positive for coronavirus, US President Donald Trump released a video on Twitter on Saturday night saying that he was feeling "much better", but the next few days would be "the real test."

"I came here, wasn't feeling so well," the 74-year-old said as he assured the people of America of his progress. "I feel much better now, we're working hard to get me all the way back."

"I think I'll be back soon and I look forward to finishing up the campaign the way it was started," Trump said. "We'll be seeing what happens over those next couple of days," Trump said, adding, "I guess that's the real test."

He also added that he had little choice but to work from his hospital suite as Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany had said in a press statement after his hospitalization. "I was given that alternative: stay in the White House, lock yourself in, don't ever leave. Don't even go to the Oval Office, just stay upstairs and enjoy it," Trump said.

But even though White House physician Sean Conley said he has "an improving cough and less nasal congestion and fatigue" and that he has been fever-free for 24 hours, some information might suggest differently. This was barely hours after a source with knowledge of the president's condition had warned his vital signs were worrying, with the next 48 hours critical. It was later revealed that the information had come from White House chief of staff Mark Meadows on Saturday.

Regardless, Trump thanked global heads of state "for their condolences... they know what we're going through." In his video, many of his followers jumped to offer their support and well wishes for his speedy recovery. But many also criticized him.

"'I'm doing well' - that's good to hear, now we can get back to election mode & talking about realities & confronting problems. The truth is that Trump is in Walter Reed right now as a direct consequence of his own failed approach to dealing with this pandemic: ignoring it," one tweeted.

At the same time, many of his critics noticed something different about him. Trump, who is known for his unique tan, was perceived to be looking paler than usual. There is a visible difference in his skin color in the latest video he uploaded. "The difference in Trump's complexion between Tuesday (left) and Saturday (right) is jarring," one took to Twitter to share pitting a still of his from the presidential debate alongside a screenshot from the video.

Many brought the conversation back to the tan. "They don't have orange paint in Walter Reed's occupational therapy craft room?" Others did not mince their words as shared their thoughts about the recovery. "You look and sound like shit." Jokes were made about how Trump didn't take his spray tan machine along with him to the hospital. "The spray tan machine didn't have the strength to walk to Marine One."

While plenty of jokes were being made about his new shade, there is also some suspicion around the video in the first place. It is unclear whether the undated video was filmed at Walter Reed or at the White House. "I want to see him hold up today's newspaper in any videos released of him. I don't trust this WH not to have taped several messages as soon as he tested positive but was still asymptomatic. (Thanks for making me question EVERYTHING @realDonaldTrump)," one tweeted.
