Trump labeled 'sociopath' after he compares cop shooting Jacob Blake 7 times to golfers who 'choke' and miss putts

'Couldn't you have done something different, couldn't you have wrestled him... But they choke. Just like in a golf tournament,' Trump said in an interview

In a bizarre moment during his interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, President Donald J Trump likened police officers who shoot civilians in the back to golfers who miss clutch putts during a game of golf, sending Twitter into a frenzy. Just a day before he is scheduled to visit Kenosha, Wisconsin, where African-American man, Jacob Blake was shot seven times in the back by police officers in front of his kids who were in the car at the time, Trump insisted that it was difficult for the police officers because they are forced to make snap decisions, often when their life may be in jeopardy. 

"The police are under siege because of things – they can do 10,000 great acts, which is what they do, and one bad apple. Or a choker. They choke. Shooting the guy – shooting the guy in the back many times, I mean, couldn't you have done something different, couldn't you have wrestled him. You know, I mean, in the meantime he might've been going for a weapon and you know where's a whole big thing there. But they choke. Just like in a golf tournament. They miss a 3-foot putt –" he said when he was interjected by Ingraham. "You're not comparing it to golf," Ingraham chimed in, suggesting that it might be an inappropriate comparison to make for which he might not be forgiven by the media. 

However, far from taking the hint, Trump continued with his analogy in the same vein. "I'm saying people choke. People choke. And people are bad people. You have both. You have some bad people, and they choke," Trump added. "You could be a police officer for 15 years and all of a sudden you're confronted. You've got a quarter of a second to make a decision. If you don't make the decision, and you're wrong, you're dead. People choke under those circumstances, and they make a bad decision," he said.

Needless to say, online trolls had a field day attacking the POTUS over his controversial statements. Here are some of the reactions: "Fox gives Trump voice, cover, spin, legitimacy, power. Therefore @IngrahamAngle and Fox are the greater problems. Because a sociopath sees no difference between killing a man and a game of golf. Laura and Fox know better."

"Yes. Yes, I'd say that comparing pumping seven bullets into a human being in front of his children to missing a putt is indeed the kind of remark that the media would report upon unfavorably. Imagine that."

"Just let Trump keep talking. Let Trump be Trump and Biden will win in 2020. 'It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.'"

"Because that's what you do....miss a three-foot putt and you pull out a gun and shoot your golf partner in the back...seven times. It's a choke."
