President Donald Trump's 2020 campaign spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany on October 23 said they would love a rematch against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton next November and the campaign wants her to jump into the presidential race again.

McEnany made the statement while appearing on 'Fox & Friends' where co-host Brian Kilmeade asked her if the possible candidacy of Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton or Michael Bloomberg worried the Trump campaign. McEnany said none of them posed a threat, adding that Clinton, who was the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, should be in the race again.

"We encourage Hillary to get back in the race", she said. "We would love it, so please do." Co-host of the show Ainsley Earhardt responded to McEnany's statement by saying: "There's no way the Democratic Party would support that."

Clinton, according to the New York Times, has privately stated that she would enter the 2020 presidential race if her win was certain. The former first lady also hinted at a possible run recently while appearing on 'PBS New Hour' by making a reference to a possible rematch, claiming she could beat Trump "again."

"So, maybe there does need to be a rematch," Clinton said during the segment last week. "Obviously, I can beat him again. But, just seriously, I don't understand, I don't think anybody understands what motivates him, other than personal grievance, other than seeking adulation."

The former Secretary of State had also recently replied to Trump's taunts asking her to rerun by warning him to not "tempt" her to run again.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro also raised the issue this week, saying if Clinton wanted to get into the 2020 race, this is the right time for her.

"Honestly, if Hillary Clinton were to make her grand reentrance, now would be about the time she should do it", he said. "Because the fact is, a lot of people are dissatisfied with [Joe] Biden. A lot of people are dissatisfied with [Elizabeth] Warren and Hillary is an enormous name."
