Trump claims scaling 30,000ft Mount Everest will be easier than climbing his 30ft border wall
President Donald Trump made a bizarre claim on Wednesday when he said his 30-foot-high border wall will be harder to scale than Mount Everest — Earth's highest mountain above sea level which stands at 30,000 ft.
Trump made the claim during a conference attended by Major County Sheriffs and Major Cities Chiefs Association. The Republican said that the wall is "very, very on its way" and added that people will have to be in an extremely good physical shape to scale it, adding that migrants attempting to cross illegally "would be able to climb Mount Everest a lot easier."
The president, during the meeting with law enforcement officials in Washington, said: "This wall is very, very on its way. It's happening as we speak. We're building as we speak in the most desperately needed area. It's a big wall. It's a strong wall, and it's a wall that people aren't going through very easy."
