'True Beauty' Episode 9 Spoilers: Why did Su-ho want to break up with Ju-kyung? Soo-jin also confesses to him
'True Beauty' Episode 9 will start with Su-ho (Cha Eun-woo) and Ju-kyung (Moon Ga-young) dealing with what comes after Su-ho's tough confession. After careful consideration of how to tell Ju-kyung that he loves her, Su-ho decides to do that on their camping trip and he even gets her jewelry to gift it to her. However, Ju-kyung had misunderstood the situation between Su-ho and Soo-jin and so she had avoided him until the very end when she is not able to hold all her frustration in and ends up confessing all of her feelings to Seo-jun (Hwang In-yeop) instead in tears.
Of course, this puts Seo-jun in a tough spot as he also likes Ju-kyung. He tries to stop her from telling him anything but none of it works, she just breaks down and that is probably why Seo-jun doesn't stop Su-ho in the end when he confronts Ju-kyung about avoiding him. Of course, he had also managed to confess successfully then. This happiness however doesn't seem to last too long for her.
In Episode 9, she tries to hide her relationship with Su-ho from everyone in her class, and in that attempt, she ends up asking a tad bit too much from Su-ho and that includes him having to hide under tables. On the other hand, we see Su-ho reveal secrets that he had probably not told anyone else. He takes her to the room where he seems to compose music and that makes us wonder if Leo is Su-ho and not Seo-jun. Se-yeon, Seo-jun and Su-ho used to hang out together before Se-yeon's death by suicide.
In the comics, at some point, we saw Su-ho and Seo-jun reunite and become friends again after Seo-jun helped Su-ho who had had a mental breakdown. In the show, however, we see that the only thing Seo-jun wants from Su-ho is misery. He wants Su-ho to feel miserable for the rest of his life knowing that he was also partly responsible for their friend's death. So even as Ju-kyung continues to tell Su-ho that they need to keep their relationship a secret, we also see Soo-jin, her friend from class confess that she likes Su-ho.
Between the pressure to date in secrecy and someone else's interest influencing this relationship, there is a lot that can go wrong with Ju-kyung and Su-ho's relationship so when he tells Ju-kyung that they should break up and in class at that, we wonder how all of this will pan out.
