Released on Prime Video on Thursday, July 25, 2024, the series opens with a chilling scene with someone dragging a local retreat leader out of his truck, setting him on fire, and throwing him off a cliff.

His body falls on a young lady who is spending the night in the woods with her boyfriend.

Raph Naughton (Ethan Lwin), the son of the dead man, emerges as Detective Pip Sweeney's (Zindzi Okenyo) primary suspect.

Raph wasn't on good terms with his father, and they had argued shortly before his father's mysterious death.

His history of violent behavior as a teenager further raises suspicions, leading the police to believe he might be capable of committing the brutal murder.

There's a scene during the episode where Raph is seen sitting by the bonfire, wearing the half-heart locket.

He then throws a shirt into the fire before the retreat's manager interrupts him, leaving viewers to wonder if he is hiding something.

Why Raph Naughton may not be the killer in 'Troppo' Season 2

Usually, in crime thrillers, the primary and obvious suspect isn't the actual culprit to avoid concluding the mystery too early.

In 'Troppo' Season 2, there's a bigger mystery at play. While the law enforcement authorities might be chasing the wrong lead, private investigators Ted and Amanda are already on the right track.

After discovering that the dead woman wasn't the lover of Raph's father, they spy on a bike gang and find the boy who was with the woman that night and witnessed everything.

The suspicious monthly transaction in the books of the retreat also hints that some big players might be involved. Moreover, the return of Twist (Simon Lyndon) is only going to further mess up Amanda's investigation.

At this point, the killer along with his agenda remains unknown, which makes us excited to binge-watch the entire series.

'Troppo' Season 2 is available to stream on Prime Video.
