Grammy Award-winning metal band Tool never ceases to amaze their rabid fan base. They are well known for their unrelenting tour schedule and their superlative live shows. Tool is currently one of the biggest live draws on the festival circuit.

And although it's been barely a month since the band ended the southern leg of their 2020 tour of the United States, they've evidently been itching to keep the momentum going following the release of their critically-acclaimed album 'Fear Inoculum' in August last year.

So in a welcome surprise for their fans, Tool made the announcement on February 24 that they would be playing a whole new stretch of 28 North American shows across the United States and Canada.

The new spring/summer tour will begin on April 16 in Miami, Florida, before wrapping up nine weeks later in San Francisco, California, on June 23. The Canadian shows will include five shows for the cities of Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg.

Tool's tour dates will include headlining the Sonic Temple Fest with the Red Hot Chili Peppers from May 15 to 17 and the Bonnaroo Festival on June 12. Opening duties for the four-piece metal act will be split between rock bands Blonde Redhead and The Acid Helps during the new tour.

A VIP ticket presale will kick off for members of the Tool Army on Wednesday, February 26, at 10 am in their local time zones. The remaining tickets will be made available to the general public on Friday, February 28, at 10 am as well.
