Is Tom Brady the greatest QB ever? Fans hail Bucs star for becoming oldest player with over 40 TDs in a season
Tom Brady at 43 had to field a lot of questions when he made that historical move from the New England Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And he's letting his game do the talking. On Sunday, January 3, Brady made his way into the NFL record books as he made his 299th career start in their 44-27 win against the Atlanta Falcons. This saw Brady overtake Hall of Famer Brett Favre’s 298 games. That wasn't all as he also became the oldest player to reach 40 touchdowns in the season.
With four touchdowns in their victory against the Falcons, Brady reached 40 touchdowns joining Peyton Manning as the only player in history with at least 40 TDs in a season with multiple teams. Apart from the duo, only Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers has more 40-plus touchdown seasons than the two stars. He has three. Meanwhile, Twitter had its share for cheering Brady and lauding his GOAT status with Brady-stans defending the Bucs man from haters.
"Do people not feel so stupid STILL talking sh*t about Brady when he’s 43 and STILL bending the league over the mans the greatest to ever step on a field period. He just further proved his case this season. No matter what happens in the playoffs, Tom is the goat.," read one of the tweets.

"How is it possible that Brady is the goat and at the same time, the most underrated player ever. No matter his accomplishments, people find a way to poo poo them. The man is 43 and still better than the qbs of about 28 other teams," opined one of the fans.

"Give credit where credit is due. 43 years old and passed for over 4600 yards with 40 TD’s & 12 INT’s, 66% completion, 102 QB Rating, 72 QBR, 11-5 record, playoff bid with a new team, averaged over 30 pts per game, even had 3 rushing TD’s," read a comment.
And it was only expected that there would be comparisons with soon-to-be GOAT Patrick Mahomes. "The people in the comments saying Mahomes better are right. Congrats to Tom but it doesn't make him better than Patrick Mahomes," wrote a fan siding with those who felt Mahomes was a better QB.

Only for a quick defensive reply from the Brady faithful. "Pat has to keep it up for another 15 years. If he does, hats off to him. He may end up passing Brady. But it’s early days. Cool it."
