NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ meteorologist Al Roker recently criticized his co-host Craig Melvin’s major on-air blunder as the latter couldn’t control his giggles during an episode.

On Friday, October 6 ‘Today’ episode, Al Roker, Criag Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, and Dylan Dreyer welcomed nutrition expert Joy Bauer who shared some healthy food swaps.

However, as always, Melvin couldn’t stop himself but engage in some banter with Roker through his on-stage antics.

Although the guest didn’t appear to be bothered by Melvin’s playful tease, Roker seemed quite frustrated and slammed his co-host live during the segment.

Why did Al Roker criticize Craig Melvin?

During ‘Today’s Superfood segment, Craig Melvin Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones, and Dylan Dreyer joined Joy Bauer for a taste test of the recipes she had shared.

The anchors were already chuckling as they sampled Joy's dishes.

Towards the conclusion of the show, Joy presented some almond butter-infused banana snacks, describing them as having a "Velveeta smoothness" with buttery richness.

Roker exclaimed, “Velveeta smooth -- Craig's name in college", as other hosts laughed.

Melvin repeated the action and inadvertently stepped in front of the camera.

"You're walking in front of the camera," Roker cautioned Melvin, who had momentarily obscured the screen while Joy was speaking.

"Oh, sorry," responded Melvin with a banana in his mouth.

Despite the numerous interruptions, Joy continued to showcase her food.

Roker attempted to take control of the situation. "Joy, thank you very much, and I really apologize."

Joy appeared unperturbed by the playful chaos.

"I’m sorry Joy, for my colleagues," quipped Melvin playfully as he exited the set.

Al Roker tripping over his words

In a recent ‘Today’ show hiccup on Friday, Roker had a momentary stumble with his words before swiftly correcting himself. The beloved weatherman was joined by some Minions at Universal Studios.

Roker provided a "first look" at Universal Studios Orlando's new Minion Land in Florida to conclude the week. The ‘Today’ episode transitioned to the TV veteran in a blue polo shirt and beige fedora, surrounded by Minions in the bright daylight.

Roker enthusiastically exclaimed, "Hey guys!" as he emerged from behind a large Minion.

"It's only fitting that I'm surrounded by my Minion buddies because we're here in the brand new Minion Land!"

He continued, "Gru's mischievous henchman-"

The 69-year-old then paused, realizing that the Minions may not all be male, and corrected himself, saying, "Or henchpeople."

"Have taken over the main drag here," he added.
