Tobey Maguire's wife Jennifer Meyer has filed for a divorce four years after announcing their separation, according to a report in TMZ. The couple announced their separation in 2016 through a joint statement, which didn't mention any divorce proceedings. Many expected the couple to work things out and it also seemed plausible when Tobey attended Jennifer's jewelry store opening in 2018. The two of them had seemed extremely comfortable around each other. However, it became clear later that the two of them had settled comfortably into the roles of being co-parents.
In their joint statement in 2016 to People, the two of them said, "After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple. As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect, and friendship."
The two of them had tied the knot in 2007 in Hawaii in an intimate ceremony after being in a relationship four years prior to the wedding.
The couple are parents to two children - 13-year-old Ruby and 11-year-old Otis. In 2018, reports of Tobey and Jennifer getting back together had made the rounds when he was spotted with her at her first jewelry store opening. However, in 2018, sources close to the couple claimed that Jennifer would address Tobey as the "greatest ex-husband" which clarified that the two of them were not really getting back together. It was also in 2018 that Tobey began dating his current girlfriend.
Tobey is in a relationship with 27-year-old Tatiana Dieteman, with whom he was spotted recently at a Farmer's Market. She reportedly has a good relationship with his kids and the two have been going strong since 2018. This was also the time when Tobey had attended a party at his friend Leonard DiCaprio's home with Tatiana. According to a news report in Us Weekly, when the pandemic had just set in in the US, a source close to the two of them revealed, "Tobey and Tatiana live together and they’re really happy," and also added, "Tatiana and Tobey’s ex-wife Jen get along well too."
Speaking how Tobey and Jennifer have succeeded as co-parents, the latter had said, "Remember that you love your kids equally more than anything in the world and that you want the best for them," and added, "If they see parents that don’t get along or fight, then they’re going to be unhappy, and nobody wants unhappy children."
