DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, CARIBBEAN: 'Love And Translation' Season 1 recently debuted on TLC and the show has already sparked a series of controversies. The latest TLC dating show welcomed 21-year-old Dylan Hodge as he wanted to find the love of his life.

He is a self-proclaimed 'hopeless romantic' and hopes to find his one true love as soon as possible. He seemed eager to tie the knot and looking for an 'independent, outgoing, and confident' partner.

Dylan didn't have any hesitations about being a 'momma's boy' and admitted that he wanted his partner to be someone like his mother. However, the viewers slammed the TLC show for featuring a 21-year-old claiming to find 'the one'.

A social media user tweeted, "21 years old, living with his mom but ready to get married?! 🙄😒."

Another person added, "21 year olds on a dating show is ridiculous.

One viewer said on Reddit, "I am so tired of 21 year olds going on marriage shows."

Another critic noted, "21?! He’s definitely not looking for “the one” 🙄."

A social media user remarked, "Are these rejects from milf manor? 21 year old guy looking for “the one”???"

Dylan Hodge receives backlash for not knowing Spanish

'Love And Translation' star Dylan Hodge has roots in a small town in Belize but he calls Pullman, Washington, his hometown. However, Dylan currently resides in Miami, Florida.

Despite his vast cultural roots, Dylan wasn't aware of any other language besides English. The TLC show contestant struggled to communicate with women with Spanish accent.

The viewers trolled Dylan for not knowing Spanish. A social media user tweeted, "Weird that Dylan is a Latino yet he barely knows Spanish…"

Another person noted, "C'mon now Dylan.. Tequila? Hola?" Another social media user penned, "Dylan is Latino and doesn't speak Spanish?"

'Love And Translation' star Dylan Hodge doubts his decision to join show

'Love And Translation' star Dylan Hodge was excited to join the TLC dating show but instantly had second thoughts after he got to know the biggest challenge. Dylan was left disappointed after he struggled to communicate with women.

However, in an interview with ET, Dylan revealed, "I knew we would be meeting foreign women, but I didn't know they wouldn't speak any English." He admitted, "That was a surprise for me,"

Dylan then doubted his decision to join the TLC show and said, "When you can't speak English to the people you wanna build a relationship with, you start building relationships with people you can speak English with."

He added, "We got pretty close... even just kind of laughing about the awkward moments that would happen."
