Sean Hannity confronts Vivek Ramaswamy for 'going after' Nikki Haley in an interview that goes 'off the rails'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News anchor Sean Hannity welcomed GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy for an interview, that quickly turned into a heated exchange between the two after Hannity asked Ramaswamy to “stop playing games.”

Hannity pressed Ramaswamy on claims he made against fellow GOP candidate Nikki Haley amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

As the Fox News anchor ‘battled’ the GOP candidate, the former faced backlash on X, formerly known as Twitter, and people expressed their disappointment over the interview and Hannity.

Sean Hannity asks Vivek Ramaswamy to ‘stop playing games’

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity introduced GOP candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy before he dove right in.

He said, “You know, I was a little surprised, I know you were on with Tucker, and I am open to anybody’s opinion but you…kinda what you’re doing here, is saying about Nikki Haley, is you’re saying, that her concern for Israel is driven by a financial and corrupting influence.”

Hannity continued, “And your explanation that this disproportionate focus on r*pe, kidnapping, and murder of the Jewish people in this attack, and you’re quote – ‘There are frankly financial and corrupting influences that lead them to speak exactly the way they do’…um…”

It was at this point, that Ramaswamy intervened, “Sean, that is a shameful mischaracterization…” Before Ramaswamy could finish his sentence, Hannity interrupted, asking him to “stop right now.”

Hannity also claimed, “You do this in every single interview, you say stuff and then you deny it, you deny your own words, so why don’t you just own what you say and stand by it, and stop playing these games.”

After a brief back and forth where Sean Hannity and Vivek Ramaswamy spoke over each other, Ramaswamy spoke about how he differs from the other candidates, that while the US should stand with Israel, “we need to be careful not to enter a broader regional war in the Middle East.”

However, Hannity’s focus remained on the remarks Ramaswamy made about his fellow GOP candidate and former governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley.

Hannity listed everything that was ongoing in Israel before asking Ramaswamy, “What are you talking about?” as he referenced the “financial and corrupting influences” statement made earlier.

Ramaswamy attempted to respond when Hannity said, “Sean what I’m talking about is what’s happening in Israel is an atrocity, and the US.”

Once again, Ramaswamy was interrupted by Hannity who said, “You are not answering my question, answer the question!”

This back-and-forth between Hannity and Ramaswamy continued, it gained a lot of traction on social media, and as Hannity shared the same on X, the Fox News anchor faced severe backlash for the same.

Following this interview with Vivek Ramaswamy, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity faced backlash after Hannity wrote on X, “*OFF THE RAILS! HANNITY CONFRONTS RAMASWAMY FOR GOING AFTER HALEY!*”

One user said, “Sean you got good but this was really bad. You missed the entire point and ran all over him and tried to embarrass him. You would never speak to Trump like that. Bully tactic.”

“I really disagree with you on this one Sean …” said one user, and another wrote, “You are a joke, Sean. You lied about what he said. So dishonest. And then you barked over him the whole time.”

Some have also asked Hannity to “retire” after this interview, “Time for Sean to retire... just out of touch.”

“Sean - you twisted his words, wouldn't let him speak, interrupted as you always do, you should be ashamed.  Don't always try the "gotcha" interviews by bullying your guests,” wrote one user, and another said, “Sean was awful in this "interview".  Annoyingly you overtalked him the entire time, took him out of context. Why even invite guests on if you act like this?”
