Tim Allen liked that Trump ‘pissed people off’, Internet says ‘why are we surprised? Home Improvement was sexist’

'Once I realized that the last president pissed people off, I kind of liked that. So it was fun to just not say anything. Didn’t join in the lynching crowd,' Allen, who attended the inauguration of the Republican in 2017, said

Actor Tim Allen has revealed that he “kind of liked” when former president Donald Trump angered several people of America. The 67-year-old recently sat with Marc Maron for an interview, where he spoke openly about Trump and how people reacted to his reign. “Once I realized that the last president pissed people off, I kind of liked that. So it was fun to just not say anything. Didn’t join in the lynching crowd,” Allen, who attended the inauguration of the Republican in 2017, said.

The ‘Last Man Standing’ star also disclosed why he does not like to pay taxes as he stated, “I just had this silent partner who took half of my money and never gave me anything for it, and that was the taxes. I’ve never liked taxes. Whoever takes the taxes and never tells me what they do with it, I’m a fiscal conservative person with money." When asked how he managed to get less criticism for his conservative views, Allen responded, “I literally don’t preach anything. What I’ve done is just not joined into, as I call it, the ‘we culture.’ I’m not telling anybody else how to live. I don’t like that, ‘we should do this’ or, ‘we should do that.’”

Besides being pleased over Trump’s divisiveness, ‘The Santa Clause’ star claimed to have a good relationship with Bill and Hillary Clinton, though he believes the former one should not “have been president.” “In the end, you go the other direction. There’s nothing personal about it. If you don’t like it then wait ’til the next election,” he added.

Several people reacted to Allen’s interview with Maron as one tweeted, “When Tim Allen says he like that 45 pisses people off he means he likes 45 can make fun of minorities and get away with it. He can degrade women, black, Hispanic, lgbtq, etc and Tim wants to talk like that but can’t so he likes 45 for doing so.” The second user commented, “Why are we surprised he liked Trump? Home Improvement is one of the most sexist shows I've ever seen. How they talk about the mom and demean her? And was there ever a person of color on that show? Not that I recall. And zero lgbtq+ as well. Show was trash.”

The third user remarked, “The ability to piss people off (in one’s own country) is an indispensable part of being an effective head of state. That’s the new criteria and qualifying factor.” Another one said, “i assume he does adore 45- in the 70's he got pinched for dealing dope in Detroit and turned snitch to mitigate his TIME - Tim was a DOPEMAN well before he was a Tool Man ,PIXAR Voice over actor or Still Standing - always been a bad apple.”

Earlier in November last year, Allen was trolled online for saying America will turn into a communist state once Joe Biden and Kamala Harris take over the White House. He went on a Twitter spree as he wrote, “Finally an honest progressive position: '…short-term demands among them a progressive income tax; abolition of inheritances and private property; abolition of child labor; free public education; nationalization of the means of transport. Guess who wrote this Carl Marx. Communist manifesto. Wikipedia.” He then stated in his later tweets, “Oops Karl. I am sure Mr Marx would have made adjustments to his position had he been exposed to our country's advanced evolution of worker unions and our protection of child labor. One of you tweeted which Marx brother was Karl, I burst out laughing. Wished I had said that…”

At the time, several people slammed him as one commented, “Tim Allen must have seriously f**ked himself up in all those accidents on 'Home Improvement' to have turned into such a b*ll licking Trump supporter.” Another person added, “I'm not really sure why you'd consider free public schooling a wretched, failed idea. We've done it for at least a few centuries, and for the most part, it's been a net positive."
