A woman accidentally used wood shellac as hairspray to prevent her hair from frizzing in a recent viral TikTok video. She posts videos of the incident on TikTok. Mistaking one item for another can be a common mistake, such as accidentally using the wrong shampoo or body wash.

But how many of us have ever confused hairspray with wood finisher? A woman who used wood shellac as a hairspray in a recent TikTok video that went viral was concerned that it might never come out. Wood shellac is used to give wood constructions or flooring a warm-colored surface.

Wood shellac hairspray incident

Louisa Melcher (also known as @loulouorange), a TikToker and influencer, shared a video of her accident in the shower at the start of April 2023. She introduces herself, uneasily running her hands over her pulled-back hair. "I am one second away from fully losing my f**king s**t right now," she says. She claimed that despite her attempts to wash her hairspray from her head with two showers in one day, it "didn't budge." She initially believed it to be just highly effective hairspray, DISTRACTIFY reported.

What happened thereafter?

She realized what a dreadful mistake she had made as she took a closer look. After mistaking it for a container of hairspray, Louisa was horrified to find a can of Bulls Eye wood shellac on her dresser. She begged her more than 83,000 followers to tell her tips to get rid of it. The TikTok has received over 11 million views as of this writing, DISTRACTIFY reported.

People remembered the "Gorilla Glue girl" in the comments, who, in 2021, unintentionally applied the absurdly potent adhesive on her hair. One individual even advised Louisa to attempt to remove it by putting "paint thinner or acetone" in her hair.
