Tiger Woods was found unconscious in SUV by man who walked to crash scene and not by deputy, reveals affidavit
Court documents have revealed that Tiger Woods was found unconscious in his disfigured SUV following his major crash, by a man, and not a Sheriff as reported previously. The professional golf player met with an accident last week while he was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard near Blackhorse Road in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California, when the single-occupant vehicle collided.
According to ESPN, a resident who lived near the scene of the accident in Rolling Hills Estates heard the crash and walked to the SUV. The man said Woods was unconscious and did not respond to his questions, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Johann Schloegl wrote in the affidavit.

Carlos Gonzalez was the first deputy to arrive a few minutes later and noted that Woods appeared to be in “shock”, but was conscious and could answer basic questions. Woods reportedly told the police officers and the doctors at the hospital that he couldn’t recollect how the crash occurred and “didn’t remember driving."
The documents were filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court as a part of the statement requesting a search warrant for the 2021 Genesis GV80 SUV’s data recorder known as a black box. They have requested data from February 22 and 23. Schloegl wrote, "I believe the data will explain how/why the collision occurred.”
He told USA Today that he didn’t request a warrant to check for Woods' blood samples, which could have been screened for drugs or alcohol. A judge has approved the search warrant request for the black box, but the police have refused to release any further information on the data available.
Department spokesman Deputy Shawn Du Busky said in a statement Friday, March 5, "LASD is not releasing any further information at this time. The traffic collision investigation is ongoing and traffic investigators continue to work to determine the cause of the collision."
Dr. Andre Campbell, who serves as the trauma surgeon at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center said that it’s not “unusual” for patients to experience memory loss from major accidents.
"A lot of times people will tell you, 'I don't remember what happened.' This is a credit to modern engineering, really, that he's alive,” he explained. Woods underwent surgery for non-life-threatening injuries including “compound” fractures. He was rushed to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center by an ambulance immediately after the accident.
Los Angeles County Sherrif’s Department described the accident as a "single-vehicle roll-over traffic collision” in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California. Sources from Law enforcement reportedly confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that Woods was driving “at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle before crossing the center divider”.
Woods suffered injuries to his right leg, which required him to undergo extensive surgery to stabilize the bones. Reportedly, “A combination of screws and pins were used for injuries in the ankle and foot.”
