Don't you love watching a classic romantic comedy on the days you're feeling blue? Romantic comedies transport us into a world of love, laughter, and fun. Universal Pictures has just dropped the trailer for its much-awaited rom-com titled ‘Ticket to Paradise’. The film marks the return of Julia Roberts and George Clooney on the screens together since 2016’s 'Money Monster'. The film has been helmed by noted filmmaker Ol Parker, while the screenplay of the movie has been written by both Ol Parker and Daniel Pipski. Backed by production companies Red Om Films, Smoking House Pictures, and Working Title Films, ‘Ticket to Paradise’ has been produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Sarah Harvey, Deborah Balderstone, George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Julia Roberts, Lisa Roberts Gillan, and Marisa Yeres Gill.

‘Ticket to Paradise’ revolves around a divorced couple, played by Roberts and Clooney. They both unknowingly cross each other’s paths again in a flight to Bali where their daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) has decided to get married to her boyfriend during a post-graduation trip. Both parents keep their differences aside and firmly decide to do whatever they can to stop their daughter from committing the same mistake that they both did almost twenty-five years back. Before the film releases in October 2022, fans can check out other romantic comedies like ‘Love And Gelato’, ‘Love Classified’, and ‘Holidate’.

We loved the on-screen chemistry between Julia Roberts and George Clooney in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’. But it’s also true that globally there’s a separate Julia Roberts fan club that has loved her in the iconic romantic comedies like ‘Notting Hill’, ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ and ‘America’s Sweethearts’. She is the queen of rom-coms. So as soon as the trailer was released, fans took to social media and instantly shared their reactions on the same.

“Looks like a good movie, I’m already laughing," said a fan. “Ticket To Paradise is gonna be one of the best Romantic Comedies of the year! Julia Roberts & George Clooney are a fun duo! Plus we get the Booksmart reunion we all wanted with Kaitlyn Dever & Billie Lourd! I laughed a lot especially at that asteroid joke! This is gonna be great!” wrote a fan. “These past few years were hectic we need more stuff like this come up. We do need a break and live in nostalgia for a while,” a fan added.

“I don't usually get excited about rom coms but this one looks like a good time,” a fan noted. “People are complaining about the trailer showing the whole movie…what kind of twists and turns are you expecting from a romcom? People know the formula, and that’s what they like about it,” a fan shared. “God..I hate celebrities.. But these 2 together again in a movie. I'm too weak.. I must see this. Forgive me.. I have my weaknesses. In real life they're a**holes.. But on screen together they're magic. Ok..I just slapped myself for saying that!” another one wrote. “Escapism at its finest,” added a user.

In an interview with Deadline earlier this year, opening up on how much fun it had been to reunite with Julia Roberts on screens again for the rom-com ‘Ticket to Paradise’, George Clooney said, “In this one Julia and I just get to be mean to each other in the funniest way, and the minute I read it I called Julia, and I said, Did you get this?. And she said Yeah and I said, Are you going to do it? and she goes, Are you going to do it? and I said, Yeah, if you do it.”

In a recent interview with HuffPost, opening up on why she had taken a twenty-year hiatus from romantic comedies before deciding to come back to the genre with ‘Ticket to Paradise’, Julia Roberts said, “If I had read something that I thought was that 'Notting Hill' level of writing or 'My Best Friend’s Wedding' level of madcap fun, I would do it. They didn’t exist until this movie. George felt it only worked with me. Somehow we were both able to do it, and off we went.”

‘Ticket to Paradise’ stars Julia Roberts, George Clooney Kaitlyn Dever, Billie Lourd, Lucas Bravo, and Maxime Bouttier among others. The film will release globally by October 21, 2022 in theatres.
