Sex-trafficking accused celebrity couple TI and Tiny have been spared in a case where a woman charged the rapper and his wife of drugging and sexually harassing her. According to the latest reports, TI and Tiny were accused by the woman of committing sexual assault in Los Angeles in 2005. However, prosecutors have now decided not to move forward with the case, thereby asserting that the couple would not be charged.

The rapper, 40, and his 46-year-old wife had long been embroiled in a sex trafficking scandal, after over 15 women made such allegations against them. TI and Tiny were accused of coercing many women into sexual favors involving money and drugs. Sabrina Peterson, a former friend of the Harris family, first accused the couple of sexual assault, even alleging that TI had pulled a gun on her. Within the next 24 hours, over 15 women came forward alleging sex trafficking charges against them. Moreover, Peterson claimed that over 100 women have got in touch with her accusing the couple of sexual misconduct. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for TI and Tiny has denied the claims vehemently.

The case where TI and Tiny were not charged was filed by an anonymous woman earlier this year. She alleged that the couple met her at a LA club in 2005 and proceeded to drug her and sexually harass her. In May 2021, Los Angeles police started an investigation into the allegations.

However, now the prosecutors have ruled that they cannot proceed with the case since the 10-year statute of limitations have expired already. For certain sex crimes, the US law mandates the victim to come forward with the allegations within 10 years (or more/less depending on the state) of the incident. In this case, since the woman lodged her complaint nearly 16 years after the alleged assault, there was ample legal ground for it to be dismissed. This legal loophole has often been dubbed as a drawback in sexual assault cases since survivors sometimes need more than ten years to get over their trauma.

TI and Tiny have consistently denied the mounting allegations against them by Sabrina Peterson and others, as their representative stated, "They want to be on record and more importantly want the public to know they emphatically deny in the strongest way possible the egregiously appalling allegations being made against them by Sabrina Peterson. The Harrises have had difficulty with this woman for well over a decade. They are taking this matter very seriously."
