'T.I. & Tiny': Rapper's hymen remark about daughter and Monica Brown's nude photoshoot to take over the season?
VH1's 'T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle' has returned for the third season and its premiere episode has set the ball rolling. The Harris household — featuring Tip 'T.I.' and Tameka 'Tiny' Harris, and their three kids Clifford Joseph, Major Philant, Heiress Diana — will obviously lead the central storyline. With the older kids leaving the house and setting out on their own, the parents are having a tough time dealing with the missing hustle and bustle. Tiny has a daughter, Zonnique, from her previous relationship, while T.I. is father to son Damani, and daughter, Deyjah.
But, from the clip the channel released on social media, it looks like the hymen-gate is once again going to take over the show, its cast members, social media, and beyond. Late last year, on the 'Ladies Like Us' podcast T.I. shared how not only did he have the "sex talk" (which is a parent-child conversation about what to expect from sex and how one can go about it) with Deyjah but has also taken her for annual hymen check-ups.
Later on Jada Pinkett Smith's 'Red Table Talk,' he did clear the air about his comment and the fact that it was made in jest, NBC reported. But by then, people were already enraged by his sexist remark. This season, the producers are going to explore that angle further. Take cast-members' opinions on it.
T.I. has a lot of answering to do, but from the looks of it, he's going to stick to his way of handling things. One of the cast members question his decision to take Deyjah to a gynecologist for getting her hymen checked and he retorts with: "Ain't nobody gonna tell me how to raise my children and my household." Deyjah was shaken by her father's comment and she wasn't afraid to show her vulnerable side on the show. She says she was "traumatized" thinking of how things went down.
Meanwhile, LeToya Luckett and Tommicus Walker, who were shown to struggle in their marriage in the first episode, will continue trying to make efforts to be on the same page. They will even visit a certified marriage counselor to iron out their differences. Will they survive the season together or go their separate ways? Time will tell.
But we can definitely count on Monica Brown to make some sensational headlines. The Grammy Award-winning artist and singer agreed to do a nude photoshoot, to which her team says: "The internet's gonna go crazy."
