The brand new trailer of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ released on Monday, May 23, introduced Marvel fans to probably one of the scariest villains of the Marvel Universe -- Gorr the God Butcher. The new baddie is portrayed by none other than Christian Bale, who already enjoys a cult fan following for his role as DC’s Batman in ‘The Dark Knight’ movies.

Whilst the fans swooned over Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman’s roles, Christian Bale’s scary looks with haunting yellow eyes quickly got the internet’s attention. Many praised the actor for his looks who is also known as the master of disguise. However, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher soon got on the wrong side as many trolled him for looking like Voldemort and Marilyn Manson.

Christian Bale's scary look as Gorr breaks the Internet

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ director Taika Waititi earlier dubbed Christian Bale’s Gorr as one of the best villains that Marvel has ever had. Speaking to AP News, the Oscar-winning filmmaker asserted, “It’s a great, really fun, weird little group of heroes, a new team for Thor with Korg, Valkyrie, and The Mighty Thor,” adding, “And, in my humble opinion, we have probably the best villain that Marvel’s ever had in Christian Bale.”

Thor’s latest flick also stars Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Jeff Goldblum, and Vin Diesel. The synopsis of the film reads, “The fourth installment finds Thor on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods.”

‘Gorr looks like a cross between Marilyn Manson and Lord Voldemort’

Reacting to Christian Bale’s looks, one user stated, “Christian Bale’s Gorr looks like the lovechild of Voldemort and Uncle Fester.” Another chimed in, “Hearing and even seeing Christian Bale in an MCU movie is so f**king surreal, even if he looks like an even sicklier voldemort. to me i just hear bruce wayne or patrick bateman threatening thor.” One user joked, “Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher in #ThorLoveAndThunder looks like a cross between Marilyn Manson and Lord Voldemort.”

The next one tweeted, “Just watching the trailer, I already knew that Christian Bale is gonna embody Gorr & give us everything! His looks alone already deserves him an #Oscars award!” Another posted, “Looks like Christian Bale is cosplaying Marilyn Manson.” One stated, “Crazy how Christian Bale is now the GOAT of DC and Marvel.” Another said, “Christian Bale is one of the greatest of his generation and they have him playing 'Forgettable Marvel Villain #38.” One concluded, “Christian Bale's Gorr look amazing in #ThorLoveAndThunder. Finally, one of the most terrifying villans in Marvel gets the recognition he deserves.”
