'This Is Us' Season 4 Episode 16: Is Randall getting toxic? Disappointed fans says he's their 'least favorite'
This week's episode of 'This Is Us' hinted at the beginning of the big clash between Randall Pearson (Sterling K Brown) and Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley). For a long time now, fans have been wondering what really led to the fallout between the two characters in a glimpse of the future.
While the two brothers have had arguments since childhood, it seems to have gone to a different level after their mom, Rebecca Pearson's (Mandy Moore) memory loss. It sure is a cause of concern but Randall seems to be spiralling deep down into controlling everyone around his decisions.
Last week, Kevin visited his mom and won her heart as the "fun son" and this time, Randall again managed to get insecure over Kev's growing impact on his mom.
Fans seem to find Randall's behavior quite toxic and feel he really needs therapy. What's more, some have even labeled him as the least favorite character right now.
"Randall is really annoying #ThisIsUs he's becoming my least favorite character," one fan wrote and another said, "This is the first time in 4 seasons of 'This Is Us' where I can remember Randall being even the least bit unlikable. #ThisIsUs."
One fan said, "Usually I'm #TeamRandall but he’s been messing up really bad lately....true colors shining through?? #ThisIsUs," and another posted, "Come on Randall, stop being so high & mighty! You're driving me NUTS!"
Another fan, however, sympathized with Randall. "Randall is my anxiety soulmate. Too bad we can't face not being able to fix everything that's broken in our world," the tweet read.
Many fans also talked about the clash between Randall and Kevin. "I've done a 180 on my feelings of Randall and Kevin. I know Randall has to feel in control for basically his own sanity, but he really came on too strong.
Even when Rebecca said she made her decision, he couldn't accept it," one wrote and another posted, "Kevin and Randall's relationship is so great because it's real. They aren't right or wrong in how they feel. Also, nobody can cut you to the quick or get under your skin quite like siblings. That's what makes this show great."
As more episodes of 'This Is Us' roll out every Tuesday at 9 pm on NBC, the storyline might reveal what else went wrong between the two that they are no longer on talking terms in the future.
