The last frame in 'This Is Us' midseason premiere episode might have taken your breath away. Randall Pearson comes back late at night after his visit to the neurologist with his mother, Rebecca. He goes into all rooms to check on his family, sleeping peacefully. Annie, Tess, Deja and Beth are all safe and sound in their rooms.

Relieved, he goes downstairs to drink water and spots someone in the kitchen. There is a mysterious man standing right before him. Has someone broken into his home or is it his fears and mental troubles taking over?

In the new promo for Episode 11 titled 'A Hell Of A Week: Part 1', Randall can be seen facing his deepest fears. Through the flashbacks, we also see how his father, Jack Pearson, consoles him as he battles monsters in his sleep and fights his weirdest dreams when he was just a child. Touted to be the first of a Big Three Trilogy, the episode might focus on Randall's demons. In the 30-second clip, he tells the intruder, "You will not get past me." It seems the man is a burglar trying to rob the house as he holds a knife in his hand.

The cliffhanger has left fans intrigued and they can't stop talking about it. Many are wondering if it is just a figment of his imagination. "That better be a figment of Randall’s imagination from too much work, travel, and sleep deprivation is all I have to say on this matter," one tweet read.

Another said, "Randall Pearson stays dealing with some sort of demon (figuratively and literally) ... like how are we all supposed to function tomorrow after that final scene?"

One fan even wanted him to get into a tussle with the unidentified man. "Fight him Randall! He ain’t your daddy! #ThisIsUs," one viewer wrote and another posted, "Everyone is so worried about Randall Pearson, but we know he survives because of flash-forwards. I'm crossing my fingers for Beth." Another aggravated fan lashed out at the writers saying, "Can y’all give Randall a season without turmoil?"

Another fan went on to break the ending scene. "Just went back to rewatch the ending of @NBCThisisUs (apparently I like to torture myself) and I noticed that the intruder came in the back door. Randall got back just in the nick of time to defend his wife and daughters. It was almost just Beth and the girls there."

The next episode will air on NBC next Tuesday, January 21 at 9 pm.
