LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'This Is Me... Now’ is a narrative musical film co-written by and starring Jennifer Lopez. Her studio album revolves around the themes of love and self-healing through an amalgamation of fantasy, romance, and music.

The film premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, February 16.

'This Is Me... Now' narrates the story of Artist (Jennifer Lopez), a hopeless romantic grappling with a quest to find her soul mate. She is activated by an old Puerto Rican myth of two star-crossed lovers, Alida and Taroo who turned into a flower and a hummingbird.

Just like the hummingbird's never-ending quest for true love, Artist grapples with the challenge of finding her romantic counterpart.

Artist is heartbroken

With three divorces in ten years, Artist finds herself heartbroken and lonely. Her friends stage a grand intervention, revealing to her that she may be grappling with a love and relationship addiction. However, she argues that there's nothing wrong with wanting to have someone and dreaming of growing old together.

Even her therapist believes that she is a love addict recommending her to a self-help group called Love Addicts Anonymous (LAA). During her introduction, she shares harboring a restless heart since childhood.

Artist gives up on her dream of wanting to be in love, aligning herself with her friend Mike's perspective that there's no such thing as soul mates. However, Mike surprises her as he hands over his wedding invitation and claims that it happened because of her.

A dream enlightens Artist

Artist discusses her recent dream with the therapist where she sees herself visiting her hometown, meeting her friends and first crush. As she walks on the streets alone, she notices a shadow following her.

As the shadow finally catches up with her, she feels frightened. However, gathering some courage, she turns around to discover her younger self.

The young girl confronts her, expressing frustration at the perceived lack of love. Artist realizes that while she loved others and expected the same from them, she forgot to love herself. She apologizes to her younger self and embarks on a path of self-love.

When the therapist inquires about her attendance at Mike's wedding, she reveals that she attended solo and, surprisingly, found joy in the experience.

With a feeling of contentment, she walks out of the therapist's office and sits in the rain, waiting for the bus. Spotting a hummingbird, seemingly a sign from the universe, she realizes that one should never give up on finding love.

'This Is Me... Now' is currently streaming on Prime Video.
