Police officials in Georgia are hunting for a thief with a hankering for soup and noodles who reportedly stole nearly $100,000 worth of ramen noodles from a gas station in Fayette County.

Reports state that the thief drove off with the trailer filled with ramen noodles from a region 30 miles south of Atlanta, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

The 53-foot trailer was reportedly parked at a Chevron store on Georgia Interstate Highway 85 north, and the heist occurred sometime between July 25 and August 1. Officials are not yet certain about the exact date and time when the trailer was stolen.

The owner of the trailer said that there was an estimated $98,000 worth of ramen noodles inside the vehicle, which could mean nearly 200,000 individual packets of noodles!

Local Sheriff Barry Babb said the trailer's owner had permission to park it at the gas station added that it was "secured" at the times it was stolen.

The owner reportedly said that he had locked up the trailer at the gas station on July 25 and when he came back to the place after a few days, the trailer was nowhere to be seen. There was no CCTV camera at the site of the incident to ascertain an exact date of the incident.

Officials have made no arrest so far in the case, according to reports.

The deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office are also looking for the culprit reportedly involved in five other car break-ins within the region and a case of a stolen motorcycle. There is a probability that the noodle trailer thief could be connected with the other incidents.

No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation into the case is currently ongoing, reports state.

While the owner of the noodle trailer is distressed, there are people on social media who can not help but find a little humor in the strange incident.
