NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Seth Meyers took aim at Joe Biden on Wednesday's 'Late Night' show, on November 22, for visiting Nantucket for Thanksgiving, suggesting that the wishbone is "currently his best chance" to pass the stalled 'Build Back Better' bill.

"Biden is spending Thanksgiving on Nantucket, which is where all the rich people go to pretend to be poor," Meyers joked. "They're like, 'We're just simple island folk who love to harvest cranberries and shop at J.Crew.'"

Biden's bill teeters on brink of failure as comedian takes wry swipe

The comedian then turned his attention to Biden's legislative agenda, which has been stalled in Congress for months. "Biden's Build Back Better bill is currently hanging by a thread," Meyers said. "And at this point, the wishbone is currently his best chance of passing it."

Meyers' jokes come as Biden faces mounting pressure from progressives to get his "Build Back Better" agenda on track, which includes a number of key priorities for the Democratic Party, such as expanding access to healthcare, investing in clean energy, and providing tax relief for working families.

It remains to be seen whether Biden will succeed before his term comes to an end. But for now, he's taking some time off to enjoy Thanksgiving with his family.

Inside the Bidens' Thanksgiving retreat and enduring family legacy

The night before Thanksgiving, Hunter Biden, Ashley Biden, and the grandchildren of Joe and Jill Biden ventured into downtown Nantucket for some shopping and to dine while President Biden focused on diplomatic matters.

Despite windy, rainy conditions, the family explored the area's cobblestone streets — moments captured in exclusive photos shared by DailyMail.com.

Hunter interacted with teenagers and purchased slippers at CraftMasters, possibly for the president. Naomi Biden, alongside relatives, started their Thanksgiving vacation with a workout and coffee at Hub Coffee shop. Ashley Biden took a selfie with her niece and her spouse.

Staying at a lavish compound, the family planned to celebrate President Biden's 81st birthday with some coconut cake.

Thanksgiving dinner will be organized at their extensive accommodation, featuring amenities like a tennis court and swimming pool.

The Bidens traditionally call military families to express gratitude during this time.

Their stay involves festive activities, including town visits for lunch, shopping, and the Christmas Tree lighting.

President Biden typically attends church on the occasion and will probably do so again this year, on Saturday, November 19, followed by their return to Washington, DC, on Sunday. Commander, their dog, may not join this year due to a previous incident at the White House.

For 48 years, Nantucket has been a cherished holiday spot for the Bidens. It holds deep memories, including Beau Biden's proposal to his wife Hallie and their marriage at a local church.

The family's consistent presence in Nantucket for Thanksgiving highlights its significant tradition, only interrupted by personal tragedies or the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite life's challenges, the president noted in his memoir, 'Promise Me Dad', the enduring importance of celebrating Thanksgiving in Nantucket and its profound impact on their grandchildren's lives.
