They've been teased across the wide spectrum of 'The Walking Dead' universe as a deadly, and mysterious military force. In 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond', we get our closest look at this shadowy organization than we ever have before, and on the next episode of the series, we see that the organization might not be as unified as they initially appear. The final moments of the series' very first episode show the Civic Republic Military seemingly wiping out the Campus Colony for reasons unknown – and the decision is not sitting well with one of the CRM's members.

We still don't know exactly what happened at Campus Colony or why it did. The 'World Beyond' showrunner Matt Negrete has said during a New York Comic Con panel that there is more to this incident than meets the eye, saying, "It looks like some pretty effed up stuff has gone down there. We see some, like, piles of bodies, it looks like there are just piles of empties lying around as well, and we just really don’t know. Y’know, it could be that they [CRM] just swooped in to try and save the day and they were too late? Maybe there was something else going on? It’s a little piece of the puzzle and we’ll be kind of filling in those pieces as the season and the series goes on. But we will get answers to that, for sure. It’s gonna play a big part in us figuring out who this organization is and what they want and what their goals are.”

Nevertheless, whatever they did, it is making at least one CRM member extremely haunted by their actions, and he is questioning whether or not they've done the right thing. He's seen talking to Elizabeth Kublek (Julia Ormond) about his doubts, but of course, Elizabeth herself is as unwavering as ever. What actually happened at Campus Colony, and what does it mean for the CRM's true purpose? Answers await, in the next episode of 'World Beyond'

The synopsis for the episode, entitled 'The Tyger and the Lamb', reads "Burdened by their pasts, members of the group adopt opposing strategies for dealing with a massive obstacle; pressure is put on the group to return home." You can watch a promo for the episode below.
