'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' Episode 9: Will Felix Carclucci die in the Season 1 finale?

With Episode 8 proving to be a shocker, and the promo of Episode 9 showing Felix in bad shape, is it time to speculate his time is up?

Things don't look too good for Felix Carlucci (Nico Tortorella) in Episode 9. The promo by AMC suggested that he was in bad shape and the teen's guardian just might be the one to make the ultimate sacrifice as the season draws to a close next week with a two-part finale. Felix has been the de-facto protector of Iris (Aliyah Royale) and Hope (Alexa Mansour) and has been the natural leader of the group in their journey to find the girls' father so far.

Episode 8 ended with some shocking reveals. Silas (Hal Cumpston) has left after confessing he killed Tony and Percy (Scott Adsit and Ted Sutherland). Elton (Nicolas Cantu) follows his trail so they could increase their chances of survival. Huck (Annet Mahendru) is a traitor working for CRM all along and Lt Elizabeth (Julia Ormond) is revealed to be her mother. It's all happening in 'World Beyond' and if there's one character who looks to pay the price, it is most likely to be Felix.

We might be wrong and this of course is pure speculation, but 'The Walking Dead' as a franchise has not shied away from killing major characters, so Felix dying shouldn't really come as a surprise, although it would be terribly sad from a fan perspective. The synopsis of Episode 9 also hints at how things will take a dangerous turn for the teens. The logline reads: "A series of setbacks cause a member of the group to reevaluate their role in the mission; someone makes a surprising discovery; a startling revelation casts everything in a new light."

There is also the question of Silas and Elton ever reuniting with Iris and Hope. According to IMDb, all major characters including Ormond's Elizabeth have credits listed till the finale, so there is enough room to speculate the teens might cross paths again. We predict an empties vs CRM vs teens showdown and a cliffhanger ending to the finale next week.

What are your thoughts on Felix being the potential character to die by the end of season 1?

'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' airs Sundays at 10 pm ET on AMC.
