'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' Episode 7: Does Elton have feelings for Hope? 'Truth or Dare' teases new bond

It surely does seem like it and if Hope does reciprocate, this might one of the most complicated relationships in 'World Beyond'

Relationships are one of the key storylines in 'The Walking Dead: The World Beyond'. Over the last few episodes, the series has explored the budding romance between Iris (Aliyah Royale) and Silas (Hal Cumpston) although it does appear the former is fully unaware of the burly teen's feelings for her.

In the previous episode, 'Truth or Dare', Silas was seen as the potential murderer as it ended with Tony (Scott Adsit) being gruesomely killed while his nephew, Percy (Ted Sutherland) was missing from the scene.

While the upcoming episode will almost certainly explore the next part of the story, the other brewing romance could be between Elton (Nicolas Cantu) and Hope (Alexa Mansour). Although the pairing does seem fun, it can be one of the most complicated relationships in the series as there is some tragic history between the two, which Elton at the moment is blissfully unaware of.

Fans will know that Hope accidentally shot and killed Elton's pregnant mother, Amelia Ortiz (Christina Brucato), when the skies fell and the virus outbreak began. Over the course of the series, the duo gets closer, and much of this can be attributed to Hope developing a soft corner and some affection for the geeky teen.

'Truth or Dare' sees Elton attempt to woo Hope in his drunken stupor and his feelings for her are seen in two instances— when he hugs her after she leaves the game of truth and dare after Percy's taunts and then tries to cheer her up with the magic tricks Tony teaches him at the start of the episode.

For now, this is a storyline that may be seen either in this season or perhaps could be held off until the already announced second season. However, what we can speculate is if the friendship can actually turn into romance. Will Hope eventually tell him that she killed his mother? And even if she does, how will the sensitive teen react to the news?

Our guess is Hope will tell Elton about it as they get much closer over the course of the series, perhaps when they at some point see each other as more than friends. But for now, all eyes will be on Silas.

'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' airs on Sundays at 10 pm ET on AMC.
