Spoilers for 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' Season 1, Episode 10 - 'In This Life'

The very first episode of 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' ended on a massive cliffhanger — the CRM standing over the bodies of everyone at the Campus Colony, apparently having murdered them all. It's a shocking cliffhanger...one that has gone an entire season without receiving any explanation whatsoever. In fact, even by the season's two-part finale, though Huck (Annet Mahendru) revealed almost everything about the CRM's plans for Hope Bennett (Alexa Mansour), there is no explanation at all for why the CRM would conceivably even want to do what they did to their allies.

"So...can someone explain how taking out almost 10,000 people is 'essential for the future'?" asked a fan. "What was the point in the CRM killing everyone at the Campus Colony?" asked another.

One fan theorized that Huck doesn't yet know about the massacre back at the Campus Colony, writing, "Sooo I am guessing Huck doesn't know what dear old mommy did to the colony. If not she wouldn't be splitting up the group in hopes they go back and live" - but that still doesn't make up for the lack of an explanation. "They need to make sense of how massacring 10K innocent men, women and children was essential for the future," wrote a fan.

Fans on Reddit, with the ability to be more expressive, pointed out just how little sense the CRM's actions made, making the lack of even a bad explanation that much more frustrating. "Yeah, I'm not exactly sure why Campus Colony was considered a threat either. They were pretty docile and were happy to go along with the CRM pretty much entirely. Actually, I have no idea why they are apparently trying to outright destroy their allies," wrote one fan.

The fan added, "With the human race as low as it is, you'd think the last thing they'd want to do is just needlessly slaughter 10,000 people for seemingly no reason at all." Another fan wrote about how dumb the decision was, "Yes, dumb and expensive, even in today's circumstances it would be expensive and messy and in the time of apocalypse every bullet and gallon of fuel are an asset."

Fans can't quite understand why the CRM would go through the pains it did but with the season finale having come and gone without any explanation whatsoever, it appears that everyone is going to have to wait a while before they can get their answers.

'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' is expected to return in 2021.
