Things are heating up on 'The Walking Dead' and a big showdown is just around the corner. Beta is clearly at the peak of insanity and is ready to wreak havoc. But will he die? Well, not before making sure everyone, especially Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) pays for what happened to Alpha (Samantha Morton). He had been warning Alpha from the start that Negan couldn't be trusted. And well, he was right as Negan turned out to be a double agent and slit Alpha's throat. As a result, Beta has been cradling Alpha's head and talking to it.

In the previous episode, we got some insight into his past. We saw him walking to his apartment, with guitars and pictures of records and concerts around. Apparently, Beta was once a Country singer known as Half-Moon. So, before he turned into a psychotic zombie-killer, he was a celebrity. He plays a record and waits for the Walkers to come to his door. And then, he breaks his guitar in the process. He isn't killing himself. Beta is raising an army, a truly dark and terrifying one.

Though the latest episode was a Judith-heavy one, Beta got his moment of darkness too. Initially, he plans to send the horde to Oceanside, as directed by the walker voices in his head. Alden and Aaron follow close behind to chart the horde's progress. Beta's attention is diverted by a cat, and they follow it towards the Tower. When the horde turns around, Alden and Aaron are captured. The episode ends with Gabriel sending a broken radio call to Daryl to say the Tower is surrounded.

Beta is going to unleash hell and probably die in the process. But he won't die before ensuring complete carnage on the residents of Alexandria. Throughout the course of the season, Beta has displayed his cold, ruthless and merciless self, even more so after Alpha's death — he sent a Whisperer off to their death. However, we will have to wait for a while as the sixteenth episode has been delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world. Will Beta be successful? Or will he die?

'The Walking Dead' airs on Sundays at 9pm.
