'The Voice' Season 24: Niall Horan 'regrets' pairing Alexa Wildish and LVNDR as coach uses gut instinct to announce battle's winner
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' Season 24 coach Niall Horan paired his team's two storyteller singers, Alexa Wildish and LVNDR, together. But, it seems it was not the best decision to make, as he ended up eliminating one of them from the show.
Ahead of making the decision, Niall claimed, "Again, another one of my Battle pairs where I regret sticking you two together."
The coach went on to praise both of his singers, saying, "I think both of you executed it so well, there's no doubt about it." Niall then went on to reveal that he was caught up last night thinking about who to move ahead in the show between Alexa and LVNDR.
Niall made the decision with his "gut feeling." He says, "Going on with the gut feeling which is what happens in these battles." He then went on to declare Alexa to be the winner of the Battles.
'The Voice' coach Gwen Stefani dubs Alexa Wildish to be from 'another era'
After Alexa and LVNDR sang their rendition of 'Everything I Wanted' by Billie Eilish, Gwen praised both the singers' soulful voice. She said, "Wow you guys, that was like so pretty."
She went on to call Alexa and LVNDR different from each other. Gwen claimed LVNDR to have a "signature sound" as she stood out with her voice.
On the other hand, Gwen said about Alexa, "You're from another era, planet, because I haven't heard a voice like that since I was in 1970s." Gwen dubbed Alexa's voice to be "old fashioned in the best way."
'The Voice' Season 24 Battles: Reba McEntire was left mesmerized by Alexa Wildish's confidence
Reba McEntire praised both the singers, but she seems to have been mesmerized the most by Alexa. The coach said, "Alexa, I like the way you looked at us, and you looked at the audience."
She went on to praise Alexa for being able to covey her emotions in the best way possible. Without any hesitation or double thoughts, Reba said, "If I had to make a choice, I would go with Alexa."
Indeed, all 4 coaches, Niall, Gwen, Reba, and John Legend went on to choose Alexa in the Battles.
'The Voice' Season 24 airs at 8 pm ET on Mondays and 9 pm ET on Tuesdays on NBC.
