Javier Colon cuts ties with Universal Music Group

Colon appeared on ‘The Voice’ Season 1 in 2011. Back then, he was coached by Marron 5 frontman Adam Levine. Colon became the winner of the show defeating Dia Frampton. However, he always thought that Frampton would be the winner of the show. He then released his studio album ‘Come Through for You’. After winning the trophy, he signed a deal with Universal Music Group. However, working with the record was too hectic for the singer. The Mic reported Colon cutting ties with Universal Music Group because he was not provided the support, market, and promotion that he needed for his albums. Colon claimed, "It’s really hard not to be upset." The singer wanted to work on the albums and songs as per his liking and not because of any bond. And therefore, he had to face a few ups and downs in his career. Eventually, Colon made it through.

Colon joins Concord Music Group

In 2014, Colon signed a deal with Concord Music Group. He then released his fourth studio album ‘Gravity’. Ever since then, the star has been shining. Making most of his career, he focused on doing what he actually loved besides working out of pressure. He even coped with the Covid-19 pandemic. When all the live shows and concerts were canceled due to Covid, Colon started doing Quarantine Concert Series.

Colon recently celebrates 25 years of his marriage

Besides being a singer, Colon is a family man, golfer, traveler, and dreamer. The star got married when he was 20 to Maureen Sweeney. Colon and Sweeney recently celebrated 25 years of their marriage. He explained in his Instagram post that people were against their marriage and said that they were too young to be in love. However, they coped with all the odds and made their way through life by laughing, crying, supporting, and learning together. The couple shared three kids together.

Colon’s net worth

Colon’s major earnings come from his singing career. He is known for his acoustic music. According to Gossip Biography, Colon’s net worth is said to be $1.8M.
