Who is Lindsay Joan? Team Nick singer is an award-winning actor, 'The Voice' fans say ‘she commands the stage’
The blind auditions continued on episode five of ‘The Voice’ Season 20 where viewers met Lindsay Joan, a singer with a very powerful voice. The New-York based crooner gave a personal twist to Halsey's critically and commercially hit single ‘Nightmare’ and left the judges speechless.
The 23-year-old singer, who looked gorgeous in formal attire, got a chair-turn from Nick Jonas within seconds into her performance and that was quickly followed by Blake Shelton. The two looked very interested in picking Joan for their respective teams. If we speak about John Legend and Kelly Clarkson, the former seemed less impressed but looking at Kelly’s expressions, it seemed she was waiting for the right moment but it was too late which she regretted later.

Who is Lindsay Joan?
After her performance ended, Joan expressed her love for Kelly and revealed that she has always been a big fan of hers to which Kelly reverted that she doesn’t know why she did not turn her chair around adding that she was really an idiot for not doing that. Nick, who seemed invested in getting her for his team, eventually got lucky as she picked the Jonas Bothers’ member ignoring Blake.
Lindsay was born and raised in southern California and gained interest in musical theatre during her early years. She won a Craig Noel Award for her performance as Natalie in ‘Next to Normal’ at San Diego Musical Theatre in the year 2014. She identifies herself as a singer and an actor. She moved to New York in 2017 and took part in the national tour of the ‘Kinky Boots’ musical through May of 2018. Joan starred as Ellie Blake in the North Shore Music Theatre’s production of ‘Freaky Friday’ in 2019. Apart from investing time in musical theatre, the ‘Friends’ fan has also released a few solo singles like ‘Run’ and ‘Change My Mind’.

Lindsay got a thundering response from the ‘The Voice’ viewers as they rushed to Twitter to praise the crooner. One user stated, “Lindsay Joan is so focused. Very pleasing tone and launches into those big notes with ease. She commands the stage. That voice keeps climbing and she switches to soft so seamlessly. Excellent! Wow.” Another added, “@kellyclarkson where were you??? Better be watching for a chance to steal this girl - she's got it all!” One user tweeted, “Shocked she wasn't a 4 chair turn @kellyclarkson????” whereas, the next one posted, “Wow, Nick has a good chance of winning, this season.” One emotional user posted, “I got goosebumps and my eyes teared up.”
