'The Voice' Season 19: Tanner Gomes picks Kelly after 3 chair turns, fans say Gwen's pitch was 'just so wrong'

Gwen Stefani and John Legend waited for the right moment to finally press their buzzers and turn their big chairs around but Gomes ultimately chose Kelly Clarkson

After Sam Stacy got three chairs turned around, it was Tanner Gomes who managed to repeat the feat. The country singer performed Dustin Lynch's 'Cowboys and Angels' in his blind auditions on Episode 4 of 'The Voice' Season 19. Judge Kelly Clarkson pressed the buzzer within a few seconds into Tanner's performance and enjoyed the song throughout.

Gwen Stefani and John Legend waited for the right moment to press their buzzers and turn their big chairs around. Blake Shelton, who already has a few country singers in his team in the current season, did not turn his chair around at all which he revealed later that he was looking out for other coaches who did not have country singers in their team.

Kelly Clarkson even gave a standing ovation to Tanner Gomes. All the coaches praised his baritone voice and his cowboy hat. All three judges who turned their chairs around tried their best to convince as to why Tanner should pick them but in the end, it was Team Kelly who got lucky with the talented vocalist. While convincing Tanner, Gwen who is currently dating Blake Shelton, jokingly said that if Tanner chooses her he knows who she is going home with after this show.

The Internet was also quick to react to Tanner’s performance. One user slammed one of Gwen's comments while convincing Tanner and said, “Gwen’s 'guess who I’m going home with after this show' comment is a big red flag on why she and Blake should not be on the show together. Just so wrong.” One user tweeted, “Great pick Kelly!!!”

Another added, “Tanner Gomes has such a sweet vocal with an interesting bit of twang. Loved how he held the note and kept climbing. Lots of tender moments, very believable and easy on the eyes too. Congrats! #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds”  One user praised Tanner’s good looks and stated, “@NBCTheVoice Can you tell Tanner Gomes I’m ready to get married when he is??? The BEST voice!”

Season 19 of 'The Voice' premiered on October 19. As of now, Team Legend has Tamara Jade, John Holiday, Cami Clune, Sid Kingsley, Casme, Rio Souma and the very latest Olivia Reyes. Team Blake consists of Ian Flanigan, Jim Ranger, Taryn Papa, Aaron Scott, Jus Jon and the latest Ben Allen and Sam Stacy. Team Kelly has Joseph Soul, Eli Zamora, Marisa Corvo, Madeline Consoer, Ryan Gallagher and Kelsie Watts and Team Gwen got lucky with Lauran Frihauf, Payge Turner, Liam St. John, Chloe Hogan, Ryan Berg, Carter Rubin and the latest addition Van Andrew.

The new season of 'The Voice' is being hosted by Carson Daly. Season 19 episodes will be aired on NBC. Fans can also catch the singing reality show on the official website of NBC and on their official app along with the network's new streaming service Peacock.
