'The Voice' Season 19: John Sullivan chooses Blake Shelton, fans say his voice 'feels like a comforting hug'

Both Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani praised the new contestant after his performance where the latter also said how honest his voice was

John Sullivan was one of the other contestants who turned up at the final episode of the blind auditions on 'The Voice' Season 19. The tall and heavy 33-year-old covered a song from Jim Croce and left judges impressed with his fine singing skills. Blake Shelton was the first coach to press the red buzzer and turn his big red chair around followed by Gwen Stefani. However, coaches Kelly Clarkson and John Legend did not seem impressed with Sullivan’s skills.

Both Shelton and Stefani praised the new contestant after his performance where the latter also said how honest his voice was. After much convincing, it was Team Blake who bagged John Sullivan. The world of Twitter also loved the singer’s performance. One user expressed, “Perfect for team blake. Love his voice & I think his song choice is going to be good.” Another user tweeted, “John Sullivan's voice feels like a comforting hug. I can see how Gwen says his voice is peaceful #thevoice”

One individual added, “John Sullivan's voice has a soothing twang like Lionel Richie's #TheVoice” Another added, “John Sullivan is 6’7”? Dang! Such an easy breezy delivery and good storytelling quality. So natural. I’m sure his resonance is off the chance. He is so laid back and simple right now. Works well. Can’t wait to hear him dig in and show some power. #TheVoice.”

Season 19 of ‘The Voice’ premiered on October 19, 2020. As of now, Team Legend's contestants are Tamara Jade, John Holiday, Cami Clune, Sid Kingsley, Casme, Rio Souma, Olivia Reyes and the latest Juila Cooper. Team Blake consists of Ian Flanigan, Jim Ranger, Taryn Papa, Aaron Scott, Jus Jon and the latest Ben Allen and Sam Stacy. Team Kelly has Joseph Soul, Eli Zamora, Marisa Corvo, Madeline Consoer, Ryan Gallagher, Kelsie Watts and Tanner Gomes while Team Gwen features Lauran Frihauf, Payge Turner, Liam St. John, Chloe Hogan, Ryan Berg, Carter Rubin and the latest addition Van Andrew.

The new season of ‘The Voice’ is being hosted by Carson Daly. Season 19 episodes will be aired on NBC. Fans can also catch the singing reality show on the official website of NBC and on their official app along with the network's new streaming service Peacock.
