‘The Voice’ Season 19 premiere episode continued with a fiery performance from contestant Taryn Papa, who thrilled the judges with her power-packed performance with her cover of Martina McBride’s ‘Anytime'.

Blake Shelton was super impressed with Taryn’s singing skills and turned his big red chair after pressing the buzzer within seconds of the singer’s performance. Also, what caught everybody’s attention was that he blocked Kelly Clarkson the moment she turned her red chair and interestingly, she was not even aware of it until Taryn’s performance ended. Gwen Stefani also turned her chair but John Legend was least impressed. After a brief funny discussion on Kelly getting blocked by Blake, Taryn finally opted for Team Blake.

The entire situation also got the people talking on Twitter. Even Blake himself tweeted and funnily lied that Gwen blocked Kelly. "Can y’all believe @gwenstefani blocked @kellyclarkson?! From @olered to #TeamBlake I’m excited to work with you @TarynPapa! #TheVoice.” One user stated, “Blake is such a liar. I saw him hit that block on Kelly! #TheVoice.” Another said, “Kelly will get you back!” One user said, “@TarynPapa you gave me goosebumps! You made it to my virtual team. Good Luck! #TheVoice.” Another Twitterati posted, “What a powerful performance. I would definitely choose her to be on my team on the #VoiceApp. #VoicePremiere.”

Joseph Soul, Eli Zamora and Marisa Corvo opted for Team Kelly, whereas Team Blake got Ian Flanigan and Jim Ranger.

Apart from the singing skills of the contestants, fans will also notice a few changes in the show due to the unfortunate global pandemic. The coaches sit farther apart and host Carson Daly will also keep his distance. ‘The Voice’ Season 19 premiere episodes will be aired on NBC. Fans can also catch the singing reality show on the official website of NBC and on their official app along with the network's new streaming service Peacock.

Todd Tilghman was announced as the last season's winner from Team Blake at the age of 42, making him the oldest winner in the series history, a record previously held by Josh Kaufman.
