The 68-year-old contestant Tyrone 'Mr Superfantastic' Perkins is ready to wow the coaches with some old-school glamour and class.

Show host Carson Daly meets Tyrone at the gym, and chats with him about being the oldest artist in the history of 'The Voice',  if he gets through. It certainly would be a fascinating change to have someone like Tyrone on the show, isn't it?

The singer says his style comes from legends like Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, The Temptations, and many more. He's an old soul for sure!

He believes music is about telling a story, and while he knows modern genres like pop, he finds the spirit of music is in the classics. And he can't be happier being a part of bringing that back.

His wife Clair says he would be a good role model to people of all ages. Tyrone adds that there is no age limit on what you can do for yourself, and also says that he hopes to learn a great deal from the coaches. After all, according to Mr Superfantastic, even if the coaches are much younger than him, music and skill are not about age, they are about experience.

He gets things groovy with 'Stormy Monday' and it's hard not to find yourself grooving right along with Tyrone. He even throws in some moves as he jams to the song on stage. Even his family and friends can be seen dancing along with him backstage.

But sadly, it appears this was not the night Tyrone makes it onto 'The Voice'. He does not get a chair turn tonight. Kelly Clarkson immediately compliments how sharp Tyrone looks, saying his suit is amazing and he is a true gentleman. She extends the compliment to her fellow coaches just a second too late though, as they do not believe she thinks the same about them.

On the other hand, John Legend said that while the song was a fun choice, it did not give him an idea of how he could mentor this singer and turn him into a winner.

Tyrone got us all dancing, but unfortunately, did not display enough of his vocal ability.

He does, however, get a standing ovation from all. John later says that as someone who performs under the stage name 'John Legend', he totally gets the name Mr Superfantastic to use. Nick Jonas says he did not find that the voice jumped out enough, and with only a few spots left he has to be more selective. Seems like it's only going to get tougher here on out.

'The Voice' airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
