Blake Shelton and Bebe Rexha coach two young singers, Levi Watkins and Jamal Corrie. The song chosen for them is 'Counting Stars' by One Republic, allowing both singers to shine in both the low and high ranges of their respective voices as well as give them an opportunity to take risks by changing the key.

During coaching, it appeared that Jamal had the edge due to his stronger higher range, so the coaches take Levi up an octave to have him battle Jamal on an even playing field. When the performance kicks off, however, it's Levi's lower notes that really shine, and as the two jump around and have fun it really seems like they bonded during their short time together as contestants.

But as the performance went on, Jamal seemed to have some trouble keeping his voice stable and it resulted in some pitch issues. This makes him lose the battle to Levi.

"Watching The Voice for the first time has turned me into a judge... Jamal was GREAT but Levi was IMPRESSIVE," tweeted one user.

Another said, "Oh my goodness! Levi vs Jamal Too much cuteness! I'm leaning towards Levi though."

Many did notice that Jamal seemed to be looking out for Levi, trying to help him feel comfortable and confident. "Jamal you have a great voice and you have an amazing heart you definitely helped Levi with the confidence he was looking for to make it," said one user.

"Dude! Jamal was assisting Levi," tweeted another.

"Loves the pairing of Levi and Jamal but sense that Jamal may have stepped back a little from covering Levi," said another user, adding, "Wishing Jamal the very best on his pursuit to capture his dreams!"

Many others were sad to see Jamal go. The singer wowed during the blind auditions with his rendition of Dean Lewis' 'Be Alright', displaying an amazing higher range and ability to sustain long notes. Sadly, he was not able to recreate that tonight, but that did not mean it hurt any less for fans to see him get eliminated so early on.

"Oh, I will miss Jamal from Blake's team," tweeted one user, adding "His singing was smooth, relaxed. And he gave his energy to encouraging Levi! He should have stayed!"

But besides wishing to see more of Jamal, fans were also interested in seeing something else. Nick's notes. "I'd love to know what @nickjonas wrote in his notebook at the end of Levi and Jamal's performance," tweeted a user. Hopefully, the show releases them for us all to peruse.
