'The Voice' Season 17: John Legend serenades Zoe Upkins and fans hope she picks him as her coach

Zoe Upkins is a 16-year-old hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. She caught the attention of all four coaches with her fantastic performance of Monica’s 'Angel of Mine'.

John Legend is trying every trick in the book to fill the last spot on his team, and that includes him serenading the contestants. 

Zoe Upkins is a 16-year-old hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. She caught the attention of all four coaches with her impeccable performance of Monica’s 'Angel of Mine'. Her performance led to Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and John making their best plea hoping she would pick them as their coach. 

But John went a level above Blake and Kelly by serenading Zoe with his version of  Monica and Brandy’s “The Boy is Mine”. This is not the first time John has serenaded his contestants, he did the same last week to Khalea who ended up picking him as her coach. But Zoe had something that none of the other contestants on his team had, and he tried his best to convince her to take the last spot in his team. 

After Zoe was done performing, John said, "You showed so much polish for your age, and you still have room to grow, but you were really fantastic. Are your parents in music at all? I only have one slot on my team as well and it would be so much fun for me to work with you.”

Serenading her, John sang, “You need to give it up, I’ve had about enough. She belongs to me, Zoe is mine. " The preview to next week's episode ended with Zoe making her decision but the sneak peek didn't reveal that, saving it for when the episode airs. But fans have taken to social media to share, they hope that Zoe picks John as her coach, because she has the capabilities to make it to the finale, and John can help her with that. 

Taking to Twitter a fan wrote, "I guessed @johnlegend before I realized that I didn't watch the whole thing. Bwahahaha Now I am even more sure.. @zoeupkins Psst, I grew up in Ohio too John. #Respect." 

"Beautiful voice. I think with John or Kelly she will soar. Good luck young lady and keep up the respectful attitude your family has instilled in you. One of the things I loved about my trip to Nashville, was the respect shown. Same in Idaho," said a fan. 

Adding to that another said, "She should pick John!." While a fan wrote, "Bet she picked John #TeamLegend Instinct says yes!." 

"Uhhh I like this girl and the fact that she picked a 90’s song is good, bet she went with John," wrote a fan.
