'The Voice' Season 17 battle rounds sees Katie and Destiny crush Elton John's 'Tiny Dancer' with the best performance of the night

Although John Legend picked Katie as the winner of the battle, both Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani pressed the button for Destiny as she was walking down the stage. She eventually picked Gwen as her new coach

John Legend sure knows how to pair his team members when it comes to the Battle Rounds. On Monday night, he paired Zoe Upkins and Khalea against each other.

Though he did regret pairing two of his strongest singers, it was a really good battle and entertaining to see what both Zoe and Khalea brought to the stage. He chooses Khalea as the winner but later decides to save Zoe as well.

On Tuesday night, when 'The Voice' Season 17 returned for day two of the battle rounds, John paired Destiny Rayne and Katie Kadan to battle each other and without a doubt, this was the strongest battle we've seen this season.

Battling it out to 'Tiny Dancer' by Elton John, Katie and Destiny crushed the battle with all the right notes. It was beyond powerful and left everyone stunned including the coaches. When it came to deciding a winner, John was split again. In the end, he decided to choose Katie as the winner of the battle.

But that was not the end of the road for Destiny. As she was walking down the stage, Blake Shelton pushed his button for her, and following immediately was none other than Gwen Stefani.

Destiny was back in the competition, and now she had to choose between Blake and Gwen! In the end, Destiny chose to go with Gwen as her new coach.

Following their performance, fans took to Twitter to reveal that this was the best battle of the night.

"#TheVoice this battle between Destiny and Katie may be the best I've seen," a fan wrote on Twitter. Another fan said, "I'm so happy that Destiny got stolen!! I would’ve been so disappointed if she left."

"Destiny and Katie were amazing tonight!! Both of them had to stay because they’re too good to leave. This was my favorite battle of the night!!" the user added.

"Normally don’t watch #TheVoice but WOW!!! This performance with Katie and Destiny was incredible!" shared one fan while another added, "This performance by destiny and katie is amazing, I love their incredible performance tonight #TheVoice #VoiceBattles."

'The Voice' Season 17 airs every Monday and Tuesday night only on NBC. Check your local listings for more information.
