'The Voice' season 15: Blake Shelton uses his final steal in last performance of Battle Rounds
During previous performances, we witnessed Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson, and Kelly Clarkson already make use of their steals and Shelton was the only coach with remaining steals.
'The Voice' season 15 Battle Rounds are all done and dusted. From the beginning of next week, the Knockouts begin with coaches all having Mariah Carey as their key adviser. Here is a small recap of Tuesday's performances during which we saw Blake Shelton use his final steal.
During previous performances, we witnessed Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson already make use of their steals and Shelton was the only coach with remaining steals. First up to perform were Erika Zade and Sarah Grace from Team Kelly. They performed 'No Roots' by Alice Merton. During the practice, Clarkson told Zade she had to work on her confidence and encouraged the duo to bring their attitude to their performance. Zade and Grace took the corrections and during the final performance, delivered an almost perfect performance. But, in the end, there can only be one winner, and Clarkson chose Grace as the winner, which left Zade being the one getting eliminated.
Next to face the battle stage was Kameron Marlowe and Kayley hill from Team Blake. Shelton chose Hootie and Blowfish's song 'I Only Wanna Be With You'. During the rehearsals, Keith Urban, who is the adviser for Shelton's team told Marlowe he has to put his guitar away for this song and focus fully only on his vocals and presence. When they finally went on stage to perform, both artists brought their best. But, in the end, Shelton chose Marlowe as the winner and Hill was the singer to be eliminated.
Following the full performances that were telecast, there were some performances that were cut short and it was revealed Team Kelly’s Claire DeJean beat Josh Davis during their battle, Team Blake’s Kirk Jay bested Caeland Garner and Team Jennifer’s Kennedy Holmes beat Lela. The final performance of the season's battle round came from Team Adam's Deandre Nico and Funsho, Levine chose 'Can You Stand the Rain' by New Edition for the two to perform.
Following the battle of Sandy Redd and Cody Ray Raymond in the first week of the battle rounds, this was the next best stand out performance in the battles. During their performance, both Nico and Funsho sang their hearts out and gave a really strong duet that was tough to judge. Finally, Levine chose Nico who was one among the few to receive a four-chair turn as the winner. But not all hope was lost for Funsho because Shelton jumped in and used his last steal, taking Funsho into his team.
The Knockouts begin next week on 'The Voice' season 15 on NBC. Check your local listings for the timing.
