Kelly brought together two incredibly talented artists, JB Somers, and Rachel Christine, for a battle to the tune of 'Light On.' The song, which is tailor-made for singer-songwriters, gave the artists a chance to showcase their skills and work together to create a magical performance. During rehearsals, Kelly was taken aback by JB's impressive falsetto but loved that he was willing to tweak the song to build momentum. She also thought that both artists complimented each other perfectly, which made her decision all the more difficult.

When it was the coaches' turn to share their thoughts, Niall Horan praised the phenomenal harmonies and gave the nod to JB. Chance the Rapper, on the other hand, saw Rachel as the clear winner and even believed that she could win the entire competition. Blake Shelton pointed out that the performance wasn't quite up to par at the beginning, but ultimately felt that Rachel had a stronger performance overall. In the end, it was up to Kelly to make the tough decision. Although she noted that the performers were much closer during rehearsals, she ultimately chose Rachel as the winner. The decision made fans sit up and take to social media to voice their concerns about the decision. During the Blinds Audition stage, Kelly told JB that his voice had the potential to reach the finals. This led JB to choose Kelly as his coach, but as it turned out, Kelly had only made JB a false promise.



 

'Kelly just made the worst move ever'

Fans could not believe that Kelly chose Rachel over JB, even after promising him the finals. They expressed their outrage on Twitter. One said, "i can't believe jb left the voice literally WHAT", another added, "Very sorry to see JB go." while another said, "@kellyclarkson #TheVoice you should have kept JB, he sounded like Michael McDonald." One slammed Kelly saying, "When the judges tell you you'll be in the finale but you get eliminated in the battles with no steal...#TheVoice #JB" while another added, "Oh, I loved JB’s voice! Willie Nelson and Jim Croce come to mind! Sorry to see him go." Some fans commended JB on the good work. They said, "JB keep at it. You did well."
