The View's Joy Behar takes a dig at Chris Christie post GOP debate, claims Donald Trump 'made a fool out of him'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The third presidential debate took place in Miami on November 8, with five Republican candidates clashing over several topics – Chris Christie, Tim Scott, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy.
The following day, ‘The View’ co-hosts broke down the debate. During this, Joy Behar gave her take on the candidates, taking a dig at Christie and claiming that the former New Jersey Governor was trying to repair his image as a “Trump supporter.”
‘The View’ panel discusses the presidential debate
Whoopi Goldberg narrated the Presidential debate topic to her co-hosts as she attempted to hold back her laughter. She said, “The Republican candidates met in Miami last night for the third debate that aired on NBC News to make their case for why they are the future of the party and why—”
She paused momentarily after the audience’s reaction and said, “I didn't write that. That's what they said. This is what they're calling themselves,” then continued, “Why it's time to move past you-know-who. Take a look.”
‘The View’ then played a few clips from the third presidential debate in Miami, Florida, the last one being a kerfuffle between Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley over the social media app TikTok.
After Goldberg’s initial expression of shock, she talked about how back in her days, rock and roll was considered bad for children, before she moved on to the issues at hand that were discussed in the debate.
She said, “And their platform is: limit a woman's right to control their body, raise the retirement age so young people can work themselves to death, ban TikTok, keep immigration out, which hurts our economy, and bomb everybody until we're the only ones left,” said Goldberg.
Joy Behar weighs in on GOP candidates
Whoopi Goldberg also briefly mentioned climate change and social security before she posed a question for her co-hosts, “In your opinion, did any Republican come out last night thinking, 'Oh, I'm actually the real candidate'? You think any of the Republican voters said…oh that’s my guy or that’s my girl.”
Joy Behar was the first to respond to Goldberg’s question with a quick no before she elaborated, “They're all there for a different reason it seems rather than running for President.”
Behar struggled to pronounce Vivek Ramaswamy’s name but once she did, she said, “He wants a job on news I think, he wants a job on ABC News, some kind of job on television, you know?”
Behar then moved on to talk about GOP candidate and former New Jersey governor Chris Christie, “Chris Christie seems to be trying to repair his image as a Trump supporter by going in the other direction because Trump made a fool out of him.”
In addition, Behar thought that Nikki Haley “did well” in the third GOP debate which took place in Miami, Florida.
