'The Underclass' Episode 1: Teenage rebellion by vigilantes at all-girls prep school is off to a good start
A group of eight girls in masks and capes, all belonging to Class F of a private all-girls prep school decide to go against the system that differentiates between students who score in examinations and those who don't in 'The Underclass' Episode 1. So far, the fact that Mond will be a part of this show has excited fans of Thai shows, however, the lead role in the show is portrayed by Mewnich Nannaphas Loetnamchoetsakun. As Paeng, Mewnich plays the role of a student who is ranked 6th in school and belongs to Class A.
However, this young girl is unable to cope with the pressure and tries to get a better rank in her exams by cheating. She acquires the cheat sheet for her final exams and successfully completes the paper; however, she drops the cheat sheet, and this results in her getting punished by the director of the school. The school runs mainly by differentiating and grouping students based on their scores in final exams, assignments, attendance among others. The top 16 students get the best of equipment and opportunities. The rest of the students are divided up in classes B to F based on their scores.
This makes Class F students the least favorite of the director and the least scoring in the class. Class F faces heavy criticism from batchmates who do not want to be associated with them, and this along with the fact that the director shows favoritism for Class A students, pushes Class F to take matters in their own hands. They form a secret group called the Black Sheep, and fight the system.
After getting punished, Paeng's scores take a nosedive and she is transferred to Class F. She hates the fact that she couldn't maker her parents proud and she is dead set on returning to Class A, whatever it takes. In the process, Paeng also has to face Class F's sardonic comments and looks. She hates them as much as they hate Class A students, however, if she hoped to increase her scores and return to where she belonged, she would have to get along with them. If not live as best friends, Paeng has to get along with them enough to be able to do group assignments.
None of the Class F students are ready to team up with her when they return to a new school year. When she attempts to negotiate with them, she follows one of the students going to a shed in a part of the school that is out of bounds for students and chances upon the secret hideout of Black Sheep. She ends up unintentionally getting mixed up in their first fight of the year and this could potentially end up becoming Paeng's way back into Class A.
Will she befriend Class F students and find a new way of life through this journey or will the show spell a dark and twisted end for Paeng and other students of Class F?
Also for fans who are interested in Mond, he plays the role of a trainee physical education teacher Tee, who is also a brother of one of the Class F students Min. He helps the students in acting out against the school's corrupt ways.
A new episode of 'The Underclass' will drop on Netflix on Sunday.
