It is time to see if the counters can really win against the evilest spirit that they have seen in Yung to date. Soo-mun (Jo Byung-gyu), Ha-na (Kim Se-jeong), Mo-tak (Yu Jun-sang), and Ms. Chu (Yum Hye-ran) get dragged to the ground after Shin becomes stronger. It's their toughest fight yet and the only one who has any chance of winning at all is none other than Soo-mun. While he is stronger than any counter out there, what moves him is nothing but intense emotions. These are the ones that drive him, and these are the same ones that also drive him towards winning is the emotion to save innocent people. The show has not been as edgy as it was in the past, with the writers on the team changing, the conclusion however has made a lot of fans happy as Soo-mun got to see his parents.

Ha-na in 'The Uncanny Counter' (OCN)

After he brought the evil spirit over to Yung, however, his parents were unable to recognize him considering the fact that he is a high school student and not a child whom they had last seen which means that they would not recognize him. Could Soo-mun be okay with this? Among the many spirits that the evil spirit had consumed, Soo-mun searches for them and overhears them talking about him and worrying about their son. As Wi-gen tries to explain who their son is, Soo-mun's parents worry only about him and how they broke yet another promise. In all of this, they, of course, don't pay attention and don't realize that the student that saved them is their son.

His mother is the first one to realize who he really is and the three of them have a heartwarming reunion, one where the three of them get closure and are also given time to bid goodbye to each other. His teammates are also extremely satisfied to have kept their promise and continue to guard him even as he remains in Yung. They also meet their former teammate Cheol-jung who had also been consumed. This is another teary reunion. A majority of the ending was about the supernatural.

Mo-tak in 'The Uncanny Counter' (OCN)

As the one who had been taken over by the evil spirit, Jeong-sin is the one who gets punished in the purgatory, while former Mayor Shin is taken to the police station like everyone else to be punished by human laws. The rest of the episode tied all the loose ends together. The evidence that the counters had collected helps in getting Shin arrested and Director Noh also switches sides once he realizes that the former Mayor had killed his brother.

With this, the counters have done their part and the human detective Han-ul who had helped them reveal the truth about Jeong-Yeong's death being a planned murder also manages to operate the investigative team without any influence of corruption. Ha-na has come to terms with her family's loss, Ms. Chu had managed to face her choice and in the final episode, both Soo-mun and Mo-tak also get justice for their personal grievances.

'The Uncanny Counter' based on webcomic 'Kyeongirowoon Somoon' aka 'The Amazing Rumor' airs every Saturdays and Sundays at 10 pm KST on OCN and can be streamed on Netflix.
